After 2 years of playing to not much avail, Singer/guitarist James Bennett and Bassist Andy Blowers were getting a bit down hearted at their current state of affairs. Feeling as though the spark was yet to ignite within the band and that they knew the right drummer was out there for them, they patiently plodded along on the circuit until one wednesday evening in Bishops Stortford.
The local blues club was running their 'Unbands' night, and the current line up of JB3 with their stand in drummer was booked to play.
A well received set, James and Andy went outside of the main room to the stairs to socialise. A drummer named Charlie Caine approached the two members and congratulated them on a good set. The two musicians got talking and asked Charlie to come and jam at a rehearsal session to try out for the band full time.
Months passed and James and Andy had heard nothing from the drummer. After beginning to lose hope, a chance message came through that Charlie was available and was interested in trying out with the band!
The three met up at a local studio and ran through the tracks. It was instant! Both James and Andy knew that this was the missing link to JB3. The spark that was to ignite the flame!
The next step was recording! But JB3 didn't want to just be shoved in a room and computerised! So James did a bit of research and found an analogue based studio in Bow, East London. It was perfect! All vintage recording equipment, Gizzard recording studios was booked and JB3 were ready!
4 days and 11 Songs later, JB3 had laid down their album onto Tape!
JB3 is as much about the music as it is the lyrical content, they love to play live and feel most comfortable on stage! Described as the modern Jimi Hendrix Experience and a modern take on bands such as Cream, Led Zeppelin and Free, If you get a chance to see them, then DON'T miss out! It will be a gig you won't forget!
