Music has continuously been embedded within him starting back to when his great-grandfather was a jazz musician. When KEV G was in the sixth grade, at a class party all of his classmates insisted that he bring his stereo and music collection to school to supply the sounds for the party. Which he did, and on his way home had the revelation of his true calling - being a DJ. Although hard times were at hand, he was able to work full-time and buy his equipment piece by piece. His drive was too motivated to keep him down. When all the necessary tools were in his possession he finally was able to unleash his powerful skills. But don’t forget, he is a self-taught DJ, who with the ultimate desire learned how to DJ, cut and mix by himself. Only the truly gifted can relate.
On Memorial Day of 1997, at a cookout party, he had his opportunity to shine, and that he did. His fame of rockin the party and entertaining the crowd became widespread and he was booked for parties, clubs and many social functions.
In 1999, he became the Hip-Hop DJ at Poly-Estas nighclub in Hartford, CT. Every Thursday for over two years, he brought in an overflowing full house to Poly-Estas. His unique style of hittin the turntable was unmatched. After crowded nights at Poly-Estas, KEV G became the DJ of choice for various nightclubs, bars and entertainment functions, including Club Malibu in which he for another two years entertained another full house of partygoers every Saturday night. From Springfield, MA to Waterbury, CT this DJ has made his mark.
In between all of his many ventures he has put out over 25 mix-tapes and more than 35 mix-cd’s in which he includes various up & coming artist the opportunity to exhibit their musical talents. Also DJ KEV G is the only DJ in CT or maybe in the country to purchase a billboard featured in the downtown area of Hartford to advertise his business out of his own pockets without the help of others or any sponsors.
Looking ahead KEV G sees himself displaying his exceptional talent throughout the U.S. not only as a DJ but as one who inspires individuals to follow there dreams.
