Three guys from the great north region of New Jersey, via the turnpike and crusty guitars. Along the Passaic and Hackensack Rivers they honed their skills of industrial pounding and subtle melodies, echoing the hudson. Urgent, honest and hard as a Newark brickwall.
Review of Plug Into the Sand (ep)
Considering the influx of tame pop punk that the Garden State has been cranking out for years, it's pleasing to come across a band from the area that packs some grit. No Pasaran utilizes a fair amount of DC post-punk tactics, primarily those of angular surface-level guitar play, rhythmical dance breaks, and atypical transitions. The lyrics, direct and pointed at Jersey's rusted urban ruin and Brooklyn's social pecking order, provide for some interesting concrete points within a sound that's continuously in flux. There's a lot of potential in No Pasaran's knack for creative guitar multi-parting and tactful production,....Keep your distance, but maintain a scout's ear as the band develops. Premier témoignage de m., chanteuse du groupe O.P.A, matraquée par les crs lors d'un rassemblement pacifiste en soutien à un squat menacé d'expulsion.
C'était le jeudi 19 mars dernier à Bordeaux.
L'interview est faite le 21 mars par Manu, du D.A.L Dax, lors de la manif bordelaise pour dénoncer la fin de la trêve hivernale et le début des expulsions locatives, manif organisée par Clef de Départ et le Collectif pour l'Application de la Loi de Réquisition (C.A.L.R 33).
Dans notre player, en écoute et téléchargement, un titre "Personne ici" qui dit, entre autre, ceci :
"Tant que nous aurons le nez dans nos comptes en banque de papier, lui et ses compères siroteront notre sueur, comme demain leurs fils siroteront la sueur de nos enfants."
Alors voilà, une fois de plus et sans se lasser, nous répétons : YA BASTA !
Il est temps de remettre l'amour au centre de nos préoccupations.
