General
The PAS KY Chapter is interested in all things percussion! Most styles of music utilize some kind of percussion, so please feel free to share your site with us. We are looking for friends who are interested in percussion and the development of our craft through education and performance.
There are a lot of great drummers and percussionists out there, and we are interested in providing as many links as possible.

Congratulations to the University of Kentucky's Danny Hawkins for winning the timpani mock audition at PASIC in November of 2008! This is a great honor.

About PAS:
The Percussive Arts Society is the world's largest percussion organization and is considered the central source for information and networking for percussionists and drummers of all ages. We are 9,000-members strong with 48 chapters located across the United States, and an additional 23 chapters outside the United States.PAS publishes two magazines, Percussive Notes and Percussion News, and a website that contains publication archives, research databases, a conference center, and a museum tour of rare and unusual percussion instruments.
Each year PAS hosts the largest percussion convention in the world, the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC), featuring the top names in drumming and percussion. PASIC features more than 100 concerts, clinics, master classes, labs, workshops, panels and presentations. The top percussion artists from all over the world present and perform in areas that include, drumset, marching, keyboard, symphonic, timpani, world, recreational, education, music technology, new music, and health and wellness. Attendance is over 6,000 annually.
PASIC also features the International Drum and Percussion Expo, which includes over 200 percussion related manufacturers, publishers and organizations exhibiting and demonstrating the latest instruments, sticks and mallets, accessories, music, and related products and services.
In addition, more than 70 domestic and international PAS Chapters host Days of Percussion and other clinics in their regions throughout the year.

Registration begins in the lobby of the Singletary Center at 8:30am, and the first clinic begins at 9:30am (times are subject to change). Registration is $5 for PAS members, and $10 for non-members. This is a great deal, considering that a 1/2 hour lesson would cost more than that, and you get a whole day with these artists for one low price.
For more information on each artist, and a schedule of events, please check out the PAS KY Chapter website.
