Sunday Evening Arena 1 / Tidyssential (2001 classics) / 0200:0300 The Tidy Boys
Four DJ sets down on what could well have been the last night of the last ever weekender, Arena 1 was emotionally charged by the time The Tidy Boys came on. For me at least, and many I know, this was the best Tidy Boys set ever; fast, pumping, consistent, and an amazing track selection that included a great hard mix of Heavens Cry, Question Mark / The Birds, a fantastic hard mix of Dejure / Sanctuary, Trauma / Higher (the brilliant new PAS mix), and a personal favourite Sebanelli and Oddbod / Your Ass Is Mine. Stopping just short of an hour long set, the atmosphere was unbelievable as Andy Pickles took to the mic; he delivered the news that everyone had so anxiously been waiting for – there would be no TW13, because 13 is an unlucky number. But Tidy Weekender 14 is booked, at Prestatyn, on 7, 8, 9th March. The place went mental with excitement, many were crying through sheer delight. Only Tidy can create moments like that. And as if that wasn’t enough… the actual closing set was handed to Paul Glazby much to the delight of excited Tidy clubbers.
