Morgan's songs are intimate reflections of her experiences... aiming to express impressions and evoke the feeling of a moment in time, her songs are not only an emotional release, but bring the listener into the experience... Finding musical accompaniment for Morgan's own work is an ongoing venture. Her songs hint of a soundscape not yet found. If you play an instrument and feel an affinity for her songs, please drop Morgan a line and explore the possibilities... She is also *very* interested in collaborating with other songwriters.

In addition to her solo work, currently accompanied by Todd Truesdell on mandolin, Morgan is also playing with a new project called the Singing Nettles, an all-female ensemble of acoustic string instruments and harmonies. What started as a loose sunday afternoon gathering is now a fledgling group performing for Arts!Alive events. Simple, sweet, and alot of fun.



We'd also like to bring your attention to Nathan Moore's 2006 release, In His Own Worlds. Morgan had the opportunity to sing backup on the album while in Santa Fe for Frogville Records's second annual FrogFest. Nathan is a prolific and profound songwriter and the record is his most refined solo work to date. A little folk, a little country, a lotta good.

my heart, my voice, my life...

Influences:

my personal musical tastes run the gamut from the grateful dead to radiohead, everywhere in between, and other scattered places... and all have touched my muse in some way. i love harmonies... lots of lush layered harmonies. if only i could sing harmony with myself!

primary influences on my singing and songwriting include joni mitchell, CSN&Y (and various incarnations thereof), edie brickell, the grateful dead (especially the donna years), libby kirkpatrick, ani difranco, nathan moore and aimee curl of ThaMuseMeant, Tim Bluhm of the Mother Hips, my dear friend andrea zvaleko, my ex-husband hunter moore (who really deserves most of the credit here), and countless incredible songwriters and performers that have graced my consciousness over the years...

Sounds Like:

looking up at the stars, shapes dancing in the clouds, wind on a bird's wing... i'm told my style is reminiscent of tim buckley.
