The band has been founded by Thomas Siebert (guitar), Sven Wulf (bass), Ingo Brunsendorf (guitar) and Thomas Völker (drums) in the beginning of the 90ies.
As an instrumental band they were influenced by the early Pink Floyd. In 1997 Völker and Brunsendorf were replaced by Martin Pozdrowicz (drums) and Thomas Piesbergen (the voice of the legendary german neo-60ies punk band The Clockwork Wizards). Passierzettel allready played with many different guest musicians.
Right now they are working on a remix project with the London-based Urban Dub Soundsystem.

Since the beginning the music has been improvised freely without any repertoire, just their unique sound, rooting in the musical traditions of Can and Embryo.
But Passierzettel do not stick to any Kraut-cliché. They mix it up with elements of Psychedelic Rock, New Wave, Dub, Avantgarde, Electronica, Post Rock, Punk, World Music and Ambient, using a large variety of of instruments: guitar & bass, analogue and electronic percussion, samplers and computers, folkloristic instruments from Africa and Asia, childrens toys and many more. The result is a very complex, diversified and lively sound.

On live performances they are accompanied by the psychedelic slideshows of N-Tier and the most glamorous Madame Steckhan & Inocencia Lista with their mad, futuristic and energetic GoGoArt Performance.
