“Passing Strange introduces an EXCITING NEW VOICE to contemporary musical theater. PART CONCERT, PART book MUSICAL with DRIVING ROCK MUSIC and a tart satiric tone – Passing Strange DEFIES generic categories. It dares in its playful way to honor those big questions that have set adolescent souls yearning for centuries. How to discover and be true to your convictions, how to live a meaningful life, and still pay the bills, how to find the understanding you need with out throwing away the love you’re offered.”
–Charles Isherwood, The New York Times
Hey - i was watching sponge bob tonight with my kids and this hauntingly familiar voice came on "Gary Come Home". I said to the kids "I KNOW THIS VOICE". Went to the internet, looked it up and WOW. I saw Passing Strange about a year and a half ago. It was such a great experience. The songs, your voice, your stories - the whole concept. Thanks for creating such a heart - felt show. :) laura in ventura, ca

There are people Who would keep a Weary eye upon a peep hole Of a door Looking for Someone to befriend before Saying simply I am guilty Of the want to have you with me So it goes We are those Who will say aloud in prose Thanks to thee For finding we The wacky Atma Family We won’t run From what you've done We accept you as our chum We won't hide If you come by We accept you in our Pride Of Lion Cubs Smoking dubs Or if your sober, we don't judge Thanks again, Know its been A creamy treat to call you "Friend"
Was just about to book a trip to NYC to see the show as an early Xmas present to myself. It literally brought tears to my eyes to find it had closed. I read the blog, so I know Stew is happy to be done. But, I REALLY wish you guys would bring a production of it to LA. That would make me (and so many others) so happy.
