Pasties, Cream and Treacle the new CD from Mr Derek Wright............
Scrumpy and Western - Putting the fun back into Cornish Music!............
Ooh Arr! Ooh Arr! - take a gurt dollop of the Wurzels, a shovel full of Jethro, and a tractor load of talent, and you get Pasties, Cream and Treacle - the most entertaining CD you'll hear from Cornwall this year, and already causing more fuss than a gorse fire up St Just......................
Recorded at Bumblebee Studios in Bodmin, it's full of tracks such as the Cornish drinking song - "Farmers Union", the perils of a pasty and a pint at Newquay while squeezed into a very small Bikini, (Demelza and Denzil), and the ultimate homage to our favourite meal - "The Pasty Song" - Did you know that pasties were originally made from squashy eels?.................
There's also some beautiful instrumental tracks, evoking the beauty and wonder of Cornish life and Landscape, such as "Flight Over Cornwall" and "Lands End".......................
This CD is available through our website at www.cornishmusic.com, and selected Cornish stores.....................
When we began Top of the Hill Recordings back in 2003, I dont think that either of us had any idea how long the label would last, or how far we would get. While we are still never going to rival the major labels, we have a lot to be proud of. Our CDs have been shipped to Europe, America, Canada, Australia and have sold well across the UK. Weve had airplay on many radio stations, and received positive reviews from international publications such as Sing Out and Froots, as well as a fantastic local media support. We put out some great stuff last year highlights would have to be albums from Julian Gaskell (Technology will make us better), and Gwelhellin Goth (Bad Provincial Boy) stuff that may not be exactly mainstream, but is vital and exciting, and needs to be heard. Cornwall has so much going for it the amount of talent weve come across is unbelievable...............
We continue to grow, but we are still putting all the profits back into the label, including the purchase of a revamped shopping basket facility on www.cornishmusic.com/shop giving us the opportunity to sell a huge amount of new product, and giving Cornish artists the opportunity to sell their own albums on our site on a commission basis We want to hear from any interested artists, especially Folk / Acoustic musicians, but as always we are fans of all sorts of styles, and will always help to promote the best Cornish music of all types - we even sell t-shirts and DVDs online now!...............
We know that with recording facilities becoming easier to obtain, lots of bands and artists have top quality recorded material, but as usual theres not an accessible way of selling and promoting this stuff thats where we come in we want to be the online shop window for the best Cornish music. Just type in Cornish music on google and we are number one on the list!............
Also Sue reckons its time I put my Rickenbacker down and organised a new album Songs from the Hill - Volume four will be covering Folk and Traditional music, and will showcase the best of the young and exciting new breed of Cornish folk musicians. Again, any interested bands or artists should get in touch with us as soon as possible.......................

230 of 230, walkaboutsverse.741.com: AS GOSPELLERS HAVE SAID/CHRISTMAS SUNG SIMPLY
As gospellers have said, Beneath signalling skies, On land dusty to tread, A trough in a stable Was the strawy first-bed Of a divine baby - The forgiving Godhead.
A season for new hope - There then and here now; The yuletide of goodwill - There then and here now.
In respect of this chance, Beneath bright or dark skies, Faith’s the star that we glance Attending Christ’s churches And trying to enhance, With singing and ritual, Our God-loving stance.
This specially compiled 4 CD Box Set from Time Life features the best Folk Rock songs from the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s! Includes 71 Songs That Defined An Era and Influenced Generations... In Stores September 11
Not just another genre, folk rock was born as a statement—of purpose, of taste, of superiority—the baby boom’s first imprimatur, a musical mission and a personal battle cry in a divisive time of racial tension and escalating war. For a generation of philosopher dropouts and drug-inspired visionaries, it was also the best way to partake in the era’s hippest form of artistic expression, in numbers previously unknown to man.
Excellent site! The video and song are cool! Where can I find a recipe and photo/video of how to make a Bedfordshire Clanger?? I cannot find one anywhere.
