Oddly enough, my interests are varied.(Or perhaps quite normally for those of you who know me.) I like to read and study (mostly religion and medieval history), but I also am into gaming, making chain armour, plate armour, stop motion animation, and worship sequences. I also just recently got into Computer Animation and photography. There’s a few other things too that rank pretty high up there as well, like hanging out with my wife, talking with friends, movies, things like that. Oh yeah, and sex… I like sex.
Music
Eclectic comes to mind very quickly. I love all sorts of music, from some Godsmack, Kayne West, and DMX to Evanescence (my all time favorite), Linkin Park, and others. Right now I am into Red, Decyfer Down, and Fireflight. Then there is my collection of medieval music, Gregorian chant, classical, Christian of all sorts of varieties, and much more. Pretty much if it’s good, it’s clean, and it’s not country, I’ll probably like it.
Movies
If it has swords in it, it gets two automatic stars. Other than that, I like action movies and comedies mainly. Keep it pretty clean, though. Lord of the Ring, Last Samurai, The Incredibles, We Were Soldiers, and Gladiator are some of my favorites (I know, out of my favorites are some pretty bloody ones), but they're actually the only "R" movies I own. Others are pretty much anything I can watch with some good friends.
Television
I don't have a TV but my favorite shows of all time are.... The Muppet Show, Scrubs, and the Daily Show. Really deep stuff all of them. I cannot stand televangelists, most of them just reek of everything that makes me despair for American Christianity. I have also gotten started on Smallville thanks to some of my wonderful sisters.
Books
Anything by Ewart Oakeshott is awesome, though, or Bonhoeffer. Other than that I mainly read things that are only over two hundred years old. I think that time tends to weed out the bad books for me so I don't have to. That being said, though, Rob Bell has written some amazing stuff, as has Brian McLaren.
Heroes
Ewart Oakshott, the formost authority on swords. John Clements and Hank Reinhart, who are two of the best swrodsmen anywhere, Brian Price, one of the best armourers in the world, anyone who stands up for their beliefs, and of course my dad who has constantly inspired me for many years.
About me: I am a master's student at the moment, but have served as pastor, and professor. (All those who knew me in high school may now take a collective intake of breath) I am currently working on my master's degree in spiritual formation, but have moved to Kansas City so I might be doing my MDiv soon. I am married to a wonderful woman, Naomi, and regardless of how I feel about life, I know that God will be with me, and so will my wife and at least some of my friends. Together, we can get through anything. That is, after all, why God designed the community of believers, to love each other and to lift each other up when needed. Now I just have to actually find such a community here in Kansas that doesn't reek of hypocrisy and syncretism.
Oh, and if you want to know my theological stance, here you go. I'm still Wesleyan, but in the last year my postmodern has risen by about 50 points.
Who I'd like to meet: My old friends I haven't seen in a while, it would be good to see them again. I would also like to meet a few pastors face to face, some to smack really hard and ask them why they've ruined Christianity for so many people, and some to hug and thank them for keeping me walking the right road.

hey brian! i am back from camp... it was fun. only some minor drama i'm dealing with. how are things in the city? any more news? hope you 3 are doing well!
Hi Brian, It sounds like things are going well with you, that's so awesome. Do you have any pics of the baby? Life is good here too. I was ordained last week at our annual conference that was in Wenatchee, WA this year. I didn't get a chance to connect with Donavon, but I did see him in March wen I was down there. Take care my friend. BTW, I've pretty much moved over to facebook. Maybe I'll see ya there?!?
i would love to do dinner and a movie, but i'm booked until after i get back from guatemala. things are really crazy right now.... i am hardly keeping it all together. my poor brother got a frantic call a few days ago because i hit my limit... but i'm hanging in there.
Thank you, Brian! That helps a lot. I think about you and Naomi often, even though it may not show. :) One of you (in all of your abundant spare time) should post more pictures of your daughter-- she's beautiful!
Congratulations! So, how is life in the fatherhood? There's no change like a little one in your life, believe me, I know! I hope all is well in your interesting new world. Oh, and don't worry, you'll get to sleep regularly again. . . in about 18 months!
BRIAN! How are you guys holding up through the never ending labor? I hope all is well and that she comes soooon! I have an interview this Tuesday, at 8:15 in the morning. Will you pray that this goes well? Or at least that it goes as it should? I'm not 100% convinced this is the right place, but it's almost guarenteed and I need it more than I can even express. And it will be a job that I won't feel guilty walking away from is something better is offered. Will you guys just pray that this goes right? Thanks! Many easy labor prayers coming Naomi's way. I need to get your baby gift out, but the bank says that I can't send it till later this week. I'm hoping she'll beat it to you.
Hey, just watched your animation. That's good stuff, very well put together. I've only glanced at some of the animation tools, so I can't even imagine how time consuming and difficult it was to put together. Very nice. Congrats on getting it done!
Closer than MO. I think San Fran is a good 12 hour drive from here...well how ever long it takes from Brookings OR to San fran plus 4 hours. Plane tickets down there are pretty cheap. We'll be praying about this interview. New changes huh? That is the fun of life!
Forever ago, you said you'd like some pics of churches and castles. I don't have many but heres one castle that's on the Naples port. But anyway how you doing??? I'm reading that you guys are Pregnant???? That's awesome! I'm so happy for you.
Hey Brian! I have been thinking about friends from NNU lately, and I thought I'd send you a little message to say hi! So you are closer my way these days huh? How's life going? I'm glad you found a good community to be with :) Write back sometime! Miss you guys!
Hey there! Its good to hear from you. I hope all is well. Troy and I miss you and your sister sooo much. He says hello...since he is sitting here as I type. Well I need to go run...but it was nice to hear from you!

Hey, I've been meaning to message you or something, but you know me and my communication abilities. . . Anyhow, things are going fairly well, and I will be driving to Florida late this summer to start school. Let me know if you'll still be on the way there, it would be great to be able to stop and see you again. Hope you and Naomi are doing well.
We made it back safe. I tried to get Jesse to call you guys but getting a guy to call another guy is like pulling teeth sometimes!!
We appreciate all you did and were so glad to see you both.
We all ended up sick once we got back (except Melinda).
Congratulations on graduation by the way- in case we weren't as congratulatory as we meant to be when we saw you.
Jesse says hello.
