I like pretty much anything but 'country' (e.g. rock, jazz, rap, Gregorian chant...) I am especially partial to the indy band simpletruth, particularly their unreleased Kansas City demo that is extremely rare.

I own too many. I love anything by Stanley Hauerwas or Hans Frei or William Cavanaugh. On a less nerdy note, I like just about anything by Nick Hornby--'High Fidelity,' 'Slam,' 'About a Boy,' etc. And those darn 'Potter' Books...
