My mom and dad at their 50th Wedding Celebration in Waxahachie, Texas at the Waxahachie Civic Center
Each one of my brothers and sisters -- Cynthia, Don, Jr., Dedra, and DeJuan...Thanks for being the wind beneath my wings!
About me: Originally from Waxahachie, Texas, Darron, the fourth of five children, was born to the loving parents of Don and Florence Edwards. Darron is married to his college sweetheart, the former Michelle Yvette Harris of Houston, Texas. They are the proud parents of four children -- Darron, Jr., DeMarcus, Keianna, and Adrianna.
BOTH -- Darron and Michelle are ministers. Michelle accepted her calling to the ministry in April 2007 and has been extremely busy with her itinerant preaching schedule.
Darron accepted his pre-natal calling and on December 9, 1990, he preached his first sermon. From that sermon, 22 accepted Christ and 13 of them are now preachers.
An outstanding preacher/pastor/evangelist, Pastor Edwards is in constant demand as a speaker. Pastor Edwards served faithfully for 6 1/2 years in his hometown at the historic Samaria Missionary Baptist Church. He has served with distinction in Congress and Convention settings on local, state, and national levels.
It is also worthy to note that our pastor is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
A strong believer in education and personal progress, Pastor Edwards continues to sharpen his skills for the unique challenges facing the 21st century church. He began his academic career by graduating from Waxahachie High School with signal honors. Notably, he has matriculated at the prestigious Texas A&M University. He has completed post-graduate studies at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Billy Graham School of Missions and Church Growth), and is certified in Church Based Economics and Community Development by Harvard Divinity School (Summer Leadership Institute, Class of 2006).
At present, his certification through Harvard University has been conferred upon less than 200 people worldwide.
Weekly, he is a part of the teaching leadership staff/faculty at Saint Paul School of Theology in the Contextual Education Program and has been invited to be a part of the Bible Study Team for the Kansas City Chiefs Football Organization.
In a leap of faith, Pastor Edwards left the great state of Texas to an unknown place (Missouri). Needless to say, The Lord has allowed Pastor Edwards to do great and mighty things at United Believers Community Church, a Baptist congregation in South Kansas City, Missouri since his arrival.
The membership continues to grow at an exponential rate. From less than 70 in 2001 to over 700 in 2008, God has uniquely blessed this vessel to serve this present age.
An avid writer for several gospel magazines and newspapers, Pastor Edwards’ signal honor has been in the completion of his first discipleship book, "I Second That Emotion". This discipleship book/manual, published by Pleasant Word Publishers, takes you on a pilgrimage on how to resolve anger, depression, grief, guilt, loneliness, stress, quitting and much more by using biblical, textual, and transparent solutions. Currently, the book is currently being sold in 15,000 markets throughout the continental United States and available around the world through online bookstores such as amazon.com and barnesandnobles.com.
Brothers and sisters, it is worth a visit to the Greater Kansas City area to come and hear a ministry that matters!
To all myspace friends of "The Singing Evangelist", LoLo Harris.
On July 12, 2008, The Singing Evangelist had a unexpected heart attack and went into a coma. The doctors gave her 24 to 48 hours to come out of the coma or there would be nothing else they could do for her. Well let me tell you, the prayers went up from the west coast of the United States to the east coast and our GOD answered our prayers. She came out of the coma a little more than twenty-four hours later.
But because of the sustain period of time she did not receive oxygen, her memory is not very good. So i'm asking that all her myspace friends pray that her memory returns even better than before. She is able to recognize her family and some of her friends.
I thank you all for being true friends to "The Singing Evangelist", LoLo Harris.
I know the FATHER has something Large instored for her to do and that's the reason the Devil is trying to attack her. But when GOD has something instored for you, it will come to pass.
