Interests

  • General

Pastoring a small to medium sized church in Western PA in a small town on the edge of bustling suburban Pittsburgh keeps me busy. Love for God, Love for people, and service to all is a lifestyle not a job. My down time is limited but I do find some time for fun, mostly with my family. Music is a big part of both my ministry and life, not that I am great but I enjoy what I do and try to help others enjoy making music or a "joyful noise" too! Check out the pictures here of the Mountain Dulcimers I Build. Contact me to build one to your liking. visit http://www.shepherdspathoakdale.blogspot.com/ for my blog as well as a link to facebook where I tend to be more active than here.
  • Music

Most anything Good, uplifting, and not glorifying anything unworthy of our attention such as the singer's sex life or any other source of ego. Style not important as long and it is done well and with enthusiasm. I tend to like Rock, Bluegrass, Blues, Irish, and Modern Worship, but my Pandora.com Account shows a bizarre collection of interests.
  • Movies

With three children I've discovered a new joy in the Drive-in. The minivan is a self contained environment where We can enjoy a movie without disturbing others or having to leave the theater when a baby cries. G and PG rated Family movies dominate our DVD collection, growing larger as a DVD costs less than a trip for a family of five to a theater. I'm tending to accumulate a lot of Superhero movies lately too.
  • Television

I used to watch more TV. Now I only find time for Fox News while eating breakfast and "Scrubs" before bed, and I'm choosing sleep over "Scrubs" more and more.
  • Books

Yes I do like Books. I was told once that the choice to read one book is a choice to NOT READ a thousand Books...So read the best ones first.
  • Heroes

Far beyond a Hero, Jesus Christ is the most compelling person to have ever lived. Yet he is, you will find, more than a compelling man, He is God, God the Son specifically. The way God, out of His great love for you and me chose to move out of the fog in which our sins hid him; to repair through Jesus' death and Resurrection, the great impassible breach between us and our creator; and to restore us to our original intended life of love and joy with God as our Father for all eternity. Either Jesus is this Son of God, or he is insane or a liar. There is no room in what he said for him to be anything less.
