Who are these Patareni who stink around ?
Since the band has never attracted attention of a bigger punk zine through out all these years, we decided as a promo material to explain few things about them. The band was formed in early 80s when first 2-then 3 and finally 4 teenagers gathered and decided to ease frustration and attract female audience with their ideas. The effect was of course the opposite, because they attracted only cops. That is how it started.They played so far around 20 gigs and they were thrown from the stage 15 times because of commercial sounds they were producing. Since they are at 50-60 releases (vinyl + cds), it automatically pushes them towards the Guiness Book of Records because the balance: 20 years/55 releases/20 concerts/15 expulsions equals the Patareni formula for success. Naturally that everyone that learned how to play in these years simply left the band playing folk for money. Only sax player (playing guitar coz that way teaching is for free ) remained the original member. He namely after all these years did not overcome second chord which appears when missed on a rare practice because the band can not manage to complete the permanent line-up. Same as in last century.Thus, the music is hardly digestible and texts are no better. Therefore, texts are in Croatian because fame abroad comes from no fame at home and Patareni are full of it.The band presents their opinions through their sound wall and no further explanations are necessary.
