Music
I listen to anything with beautiful sentiment, lyrics, and/or melodies; that I can dance to, sing to, has a good beat; basically, whatever catches my ear. This ranges from Metal to Industrial to Oldies and everything in between and surrounding. Ohgr from Skinny Puppy
Movies
Comedy, Romance, Horror, Sci-fi, Anime, Drama...I like it all...
Some of my top movies are Pan's Labyrinth, Amelie, Ginger Snaps, Children of Men, Mirror Mask, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Red Violin, Spirited Away, Dracula (1931), Wall-E...
Although my favorite will always be Harold & Maude

Melody is on the clock, chilling at USC Medical Library, & looking forward to a weekend in Santa Cruz I should have my own internet again by Tuesday! YAY! Posted at 5:30 PM May 28 view more
If you don't already know me, my name is Melody and I am a huge geek. I play D&D and other various tabletop RPGs, have a voracious appetite for all things medical and/or scientific, think Joss Whedon should be given his own tv channel, believe comic books to be high art, and love sci-fi/fantasy stories. However, I don't know much about computers (I'm learning!), don't play video games on a regular basis (because I know how they can take over my life), and my eyesight is better than 20/20...sorry, bad joke on a stereotype.
I am also a bit of a hippie. I am an environmental/animal rights activist (though a bit less active these days due to my schedule), into recycling (reducing, reusing, freecycling, and upcycling), love camping & hiking, enjoy volunteering at Angeles National Forest, eat primarily local, organic and usually vegetarian, practice yoga, and make most of my own cleaning/bathing products. However, I hate tie-dye, am proudly drug-free (yes, including marijuana), and only rarely wear patchouli.
I am also into metal, goth, and industrial style and music, some punk and hip-hop, and love clubbing, but hate the drama. I'm really happy just to down a Guinness or two and sing drunken pub songs.
Most of my time is spent at work as an Emergency Medical Technician, reading, knitting, baking and drinking tea. All my other fun, interesting activities are meant to cover up the fact that I am an old woman. =)
Really, I just like things that are different, new, and interesting. Anything else? ask. or read my Livejournal, I actually update that.
One of my dearest dreams is to live in a treehouse over an organic farm where I practice holistic medicine, do yoga, and occasionally dally with the circus. For now, I will settle with hanging out with Freakshow Deluxe and learning to spin fire. Here is some footage of my awesome instructor, Burning Dan of Flow Temple.
This is one of the most true and moving speeches I have ever heard: Please, President Obama, please be everything we hope you are and need you to be.
