Hakkımızda Patchwork Blue @ Dickens Opera House TONIGHT!
Patchwork Blue is one of Fort Collins, Colorado's most versatile bands. Equally comfortable performing in an intimate coffee shop setting or rocking with the heaviest bands at the loudest venues, Patchwork Blue, a member of the acoustic rock genre, delivers a true patchwork of jazz, funk, Latin, and other styles, with soulful singing and sincere lyrics.
Patchwork Blue was formed in August 2001 with Ryan Edwards on vocals and guitar and brother, Matthew, on bass guitar. After a stint as a quartet with a drummer and a lead guitarist, which yielded the bands first album Tremble Roots, Patchwork Blue settled into a three-piece configuration with the addition of Nate Brown on trap set and percussion in 2005 and later Tony Deyo on bass guitar. This three piece ensemble has proven to be the ideal "patchwork" of sound, genre, and experience, leading to the band's first publicly available album, Sobering Lights, followed by Junction in May 2006.
Patchwork Blue is currently gaining mainstream popularity and recognition nationwide with its highly dynamic live show performances and radio appearances. Currently, the band is promoting the recent release of Junction(May 2006) with tour stops throughout the United States. This album draws on several aspects and styles that Patchwork Blue is best known for while allowing past and present fans to appreciate what they've come to love about the band. As testament to their rising popularity, in April 2005, Patchwork Blue shared the stage with national performing act, Everclear. Other exciting moments for the group include securing the opening slot at the grand opening of Larimer Countys Budweiser Events Center, making them the first band to perform at The Ranch. For the summer of 2006, Patchwork Blue challenged themselves to book, promote, and single-handedly perform their own six week coast to coast tour during which they were consistently asked to return to major cities nationwide.
Patchwork Blue is constantly challenging themselves to push the band to the next level by experimenting with different techniques and instrumentation. No two shows are alike and the groups dedicated fans, who come back concert after concert, never know exactly what to expect, other than a captivating ride featuring a maturity of songwriting and musical ability that defies their 20-something energy.
