ABOUT THE BAND: PATCHWORK is a band made up of five women who like to play everything. With over seventeen years of singing together under their collective belts, this group's vocals soar and inspire as they bring Originals, Florida Folk, Country, Cowboy/Western Swing, 40's Swing, Jazz, and Rhythm & Blues into the arenas of Bluegrass & Old-Time via creative arrangements, virtuoso banjo, and vocal harmonies, all performed on acoustic instruments. Each member plays professionally in a variety of musical settings, and brings her own unique talent and flavor to the mix. The group's forte is their incredible vocal blend, along with creative arrangements and unique stylistic choices. PATCHWORK features award-winning banjoist and fiddler TAMMY MURRAY. The band-formed in 1991-hails from Gainesville, Florida, and performs at concerts, festivals, schools, square dances, clubs and parties throughout the state. In addition to adding their feminine Floridian flavor to special events such as the Appleton Museum in Ocala, the Cummer Museum in Jacksonville, and the Sunday Sampler in Dunnellon, they have also been broadcast live on national public television and radio, and have had their music used in documentaries. Their professional ease onstage, instrumental prowess, and beautifully blended voices have made them a beloved favorite at festivals statewide, including the Gamble Rogers Festival in St. Augustine, The Will McLean Folk Festival in Dade City, and the Florida Folk Festival in White Springs (PATCHWORK will be headliners for both the 2008 Florida Folk Festival and the 2008 Will McLean Folk Festival). PATCHWORK's ladies bring a spirit of camaraderie and ease to all their music, which comes across in their live recordings. PATCHWORK has recorded two live albums; the first album is titled, "Patchwork: Live in Concert," and the second album is "Patchwork Rides Again!" Both CDs are available for purchase through Patchwork's website, http://www.patchwork.us and also at http://www.cdbaby.com. PATCHWORK is available for booking for concerts, festivals, conventions, schools, museums, dances and other events throughout the Southeast. For music that makes people feel like kickin' up their heels while managing to impart a little bit of history and education at the same time, this band is an unbeatable combination. For booking information, please e-mail info@patchwork.us .
