"....her elegant and sultry presence sparked.....an evening of smoothe jazz and seductive vocals reminiscent of ella fitzgerald who murray later claimed was one of her main influences....." Queen's Journal. Calling Toronto home for 10 years now Pat Murray spent the previous ten years as Kingston's most popular and active jazz/pop vocalist. She moved to Toronto in 2000 to teach her other "love" - drama, at an inner city high school and to further persue her singing career. With two cd's under her belt and a third just released: "Ticket to Ride- The Beatles Book", Pat has evolved into a consumate singer and performer capable of capturing any audience with her intelligence, her heart, her emotion and her talent. Born in Orillia and raised in Montreal, Pat moved with her family in 1967 to Gananaque and then Kingston. Her father was a guitarist who played with Oscar Peterson and taught Gordon Lightfoot how to play his first bar chords. A graduate of Drama and Education from Queens University, Pat was encouraged from the age of three to sing, dance and perform. Pat has appeared in many theatre performances including "Finnigan's Wake" at the Tarragon Theatre and at the Grand Theatre in "Outside & in the Cold", a one-woman docudrama. She is currently very active in the Toronto club scene and enjoys teaching Drama and directing musical theatre. Her new CD's profits are being donated to "A life a Year"- a non-profit charity she has set up to support live liver donation.
