Tasty jams, cool melodies, interesting rhythms, creative phrases, vocal harmonies, guitarmonies, great songs, over-analysing everything, exaggerating, playing guitar, piano, bass, drums, singing, trying to entertain people, recording, performing, gear, learning about music, listening to music, going to shows, biking, riding in crowded elevators, red peppers, over-crowded public transportation, waking up at 5am every weekend, sleeping in whenever possible, beautiful women, delivering mail, directing weekend radio news segments, Leonard Bernstein, hyphens, hilarious answering-machine greetings, washing my feet, punching babies, beautiful women, brown shoes, saying "what if ?...", quittung television, trying to quit smoking, chin ups, Tuna Salad, doubling over with laughter, cookies, beautiful women, epilets, pant-suits, chicken, awkward silences, awkward noises, bad jokes, good jokes, knock-knock jokes, rediculousness.
Music
Any and all... as long as it's cool.
Movies
I love mockumentaries, chroistopher guest movies crack me up: Waiting for guffman, this is spinal tap, best in show, for your consideration, a mighty wind.
Television
I'm a recovering television addict, your T.V lies to you, it doesn't love you, it will only consume you. Kill your Television.
Books
Some I've read recently: "The Tipping Point", "Freakonomics", "Fast Food Nation"
Currently reading "The Road to Madness" a collection of sahort stories by H.P. Lovecraft

About me: So...
I'm a freelance musician, I play the guitar, I've been trying to make a living in the city for about two years now. Got into this myspace thing to spread the word about the things I'm doing, and hopefully reconnect with friends I haven't seen in a long time.
On the weekends I work as an operator/associate producer for Classical 96.3 fm "Toronto's Classical Favorites". The other five days a week are spent delivering mail to various offices in BCE Place, it's a tall building in Toronto's financial district. So about 60 hours a week are devoted to working(sigh), the other 108 are devoted to my passions: music, eating and sleeping. The profile song I have posted is from my old band, Dr. Fly and the Foundation you can hear more at www.myspace.com/drflyandthefoundation, I'm playing all guitar parts on this song. Soon I'll set up my own myspace music site, so you can hear what weird and wonderful things I'll be doing in the future.
I am so fortunate to live in a house full of wonderfully creative and kind people who all enjoy music as much as I do. I've been playing music with my friend Mani Khaira for almost a year now. He is working on a new album and it's is sounding pretty awesome. To hear a sample of Mani's music, check out the link his page below, and let me know what you think.

Whats poppin' Patrick R. Barnett......Wanted to share one of my favorite videos of all-time with you.....The Wu-Tang Clan broke all the rules. Nine MCs shared the mic, all with equal aplomb. ....The RZA helmed the production, and through a pastiche of breaks, Stax samples, and kung-fu dialogue, created an indelible ghetto-noir soundscape as alien as it was alienating.....“Can It Be All So Simple,” with its disembodied soul diva and hiccupping bass is a moment of poignant reflection. ....Hype Williams did a great job in directing the amazing video for the song and bringing Ghost and Rae's words to life......If you haven't peeped this video in a while, or if you have never seen it make sure you check out Wu-Tang's Classic "Can It Be All So Simple" Video today:
Need your help! I am one of three contestants in Glamour Magazine's search for their next male relationship columnist... and the winner is up to you! You can vote as many times as you want from now 'til June... so please cast a few for me!
Whats poppin' Patrick R. Barnett? .......Just stopped by to tell u that Hip-Hop Legend Nas threw down a sick show last week proving that Hip-Hop is alive and well....It was a great show and the Toronto crowd went home witness to hip-hop history.....One of the shows highlights was NAS's performance of "One Mic". Nas was on the top of his game during this song, switching between tempo's with gusto.....You can watch NAS's performance of "One Mic Live in Toronto" by clicking the link below:
