Bio
Patrick is a Philadelphia based singer/songwriter who has recently met up with his band “The Rising,” which includes Paul Mencel (bass, saxophone), Mark McGuire (drums), and most recently Eric Henkels (piano). At an age of 18, Patrick’s music takes on a very sophisticated sound. Some of Patrick’s inspirations include Jack Johnson, John Butler, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Dispatch.
Patrick’s first musical project, "Just A Demo," which consists of 5 tracks recorded on his home equipment was released to the public under the name of Patrick J Mencel. “Just a Demo” got Patrick many gigs at local venues. Recently, Patrick, after winning an open mic at the World Café, was named one of WXPN’s Philly Rising,. Patrick has gained much popularity and has developed a significant fan base under the name Patrick J Mencel.
However, in search for a better stage name, Patrick changed his name to Patrick Grant. He has just finished his new EP, “Tomorrow Will Be Won.” It was recorded at Milkboy studios under the production of Tim Sonnefeld. “Tomorrow Will Be Won” is available online at CDbaby.com and digstation.com. It is also available at Siren Records in Doylestown, PA and hopefully will soon be available at your local record store.
Patrick Grant and The Rising have high hopes for “Tomorrow Will Be Won.” They hope to soon find a record label and management. Until then, Patrick Grant and The Rising will continue to gig until their music is heard across the globe, slowly inspiring everyone it reaches.
