Patrick Hernly is a percussionist whose unique personal style has been shaped by a diverse array of infuences. At age 28, Patrick has traveled extensively, working with artists from around the globe. His resume includes performances at many prestigious venues in the U.S. and abroad, including Lincoln Center, Teatro Colon (Buenos Aires), and the Hollywood Bowl. In December of 2006, Patrick was a featured performer at the Nokia New Years celebration in Mumbai, India, with music director A.R. Rahman. Patrick's work stretches across many geographical and cultural bounderies. He has toured Latin America as a classical percussionist with La Orquesta Sinfonica de Guayaquil and the Lima Ballet, and has appeared in concert with Latin pop sensation Anais and Grammy Award winner Fonseca (2006). He is also the drummer for reknowned Cuban guitarist and singer Freddy Montes, and is the percussionist for David New and the Hip Abduction in Tampa, FL. As a featured percussionist with the Global Rhythms All-Stars world music ensemble, Patrick has shared the stage with such stars as mridangam maestro Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman, Latin greats Jon Santos and Horacio Hernandez, and percussion guru Glen Velez.
