Patrick Jaynes started out his musical journey from the womb. His Grandfather was a world class musician. His grandfather played with some of the countries biggest country stars including the likes of Hank Williams Sr, George Jones and several others. His uncle, Charlie Jaynes has been a a professional musician for over 50 years. He's traveled all across the country with some of the biggest country bands around. He played with Johnny Paycheck in the Late 70's and signed a record deal in the early 80's with famous producer Don Was.
Patrick started playing guitar at the age of 4. He would travel with his grandfather all across Michigan and Ohio playing with his grandfathers bluegrass band. At the age of 9 Patricks uncle brought him a copy of Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry. From that moment on Pat decided to learn how to play Rock n Roll. Not taking thee advice of his Grandfather Pat decided to play Rock n Roll rather than Bluegrass. From that point on Patricks' uncle schooled him in the way of Rock n Roll. He taught Pat the true meaning of Rock. He gave him albums by Buddy Holly, Duane Eddy, The Ventures, Ritchie Valens, The Everly Brothers and many more.
At the age of 12 Patrick discoverd Stevie Ray Vaughan. Like so many before Stevies music touched Pats soul. Patick decided to dive into the blues. He soaked himself with all the classic blues albums he could find. He was a true student of the blues.
At the age of 14 Patricks high school band, BLUES POWER was playing all over Detroit, Chicago, and Ohio. This project lasted about 3 years, Although they did sign a local record deal and have some local success the band disbanded when 3 of the 4 members decided to go to college.
After this Pat played with countless local blues bands. He was constantly working but never achieved any success other than that of local super talent.
At thee age of 20 he formed Pat Jaynes and the Hurricanes. With this group he traveled throughout the midwest for over 10 year.
Pat has currently been working on his new project GrooveDog. GrooveDog brings to the table a truly original and unique sound.
