I try to spend as much time as possible with Vox, the border collie.
Music
1960's Rock - Classic Blues - British Invasion Rock - All Chuck Berry Songs - Moody Blues
Movies
Enemy at the Gates
The Godfather Series
Once Upon a Time in America
Hanover Street - I've been there.
Television
I like watching most broadcast in 1080p High Definition TV.
Books
Against the Mainstream - The Selected Works of George Gerbner. Groundbreaking 1980's communication research articles and findings that are still talked about. Researchers still laud and yet criticize Gerber's work involving the correlation between heavy TV viewing and subsequent aggressive behavior.
Heroes
The Staff of Companion Hospice - Edmond and Guthrie Oklahoma. They gave my mother the best of care, every day, for six weeks until the day she died.
I was a broadcast news reporter and anchor for 15 years, and then a mass communication college professor for another 15 years. But I gave up everything in June, 2006 to: 1) help my mother with her late-in-life type II diabetes complications, 2) help my mother with her health problems and make sure she had some quality of life, and 3) try to keep my mother alive.
Jean Casey is gone now, and I still miss her terribly.

BTW, fight off that sickness....I know you can do it. You want to go walking with me someday? I can meet you at Hafer park..they have a pretty good walking trail!
Pat...you seem to be on a downhill slide. It's time to start looking up to the brigher things in life. you have my great freinds...vicki and I are only two of them. Let us help you!
Pat...I agree with Vicki and the social workers. As a mother, I know that I would hate for any of my children to carry such grief. It's a burden they are not meant to carry...just like you're not. My time on earth will come to an end one day and when it does, I want my kids live their lives remembering the good times and not dwelling on their loss.
Pat: Hi there! Thanks for the emails. It is always good to hear from you. In regards to what those social workers and others say about you "moving forward"...I believe that is what your mother would want you to do. You should look into getting some medicine to assist you. I take meds and it makes the world of difference. /Vicki
