For songs and videos please check out: http://www.reverbnation.com/patrickwalters "Walters uncorks some elegantly beautiful crying lines over a percolating rhythm section...his phrasing is very vocal-like, and he doesn't hurry his compact, concise lines at all, instead using the spaces between melodies to craft a delicious tension. Dreamy." - Guitar Player Magazine, April 2010 Some of my earliest memories of making music are writing little piano tunes around the age of 5. I got my first guitar at 9 and when I was 12 began performing in restaurants and art galleries. In high-school I attended Berklee College of Music summer semesters, eventually returning full time on scholarship, studying guitar privately with Jon Finn and composition with John Bavicchi. I traveled for quite a few years after leaving Berklee, studying composition with Klaas de Vries at the MusikHochschule in Rotterdam, Netherlands, languages and literature at McGill University in Montreal, meditation and Buddhist studies at Gampo Abbey, Cape Breton, and Comparative Religion at Phillips University in Marburg, Germany. As a composer I'm very inspired by the brief, vivid memories that can arise during meditation practice. They seem like these immaculate little realities, self-contained in the blink of an eye. When I'm lucky, they find their way into sound and a piece is born.
