I love all kinds of music. Early influences were James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, the Beatles, Bonnie Raitt, Earl Klugh, and Motown. Now I'm listening to artists ranging from Ani DiFranco, Shawn Colvin, Patty Griffin, Dave Matthews, Amos Lee, Paolo Nutini, Justin Nozuka, Damien Rice, india.arie, Silvio Rodriguez, and Pink. And I have a real passion for calypso, soca, & reggae!

I'm a singer-songwriter-guitarist living in the Boston area and I play comtemporary acoustic folk, peppered with rhythm and spice!
My new CD, SECRETS AND STORIES, was released in Sept. 2008 and was recorded at Thomas Eaton Recording in Newburyport, MA. It is bursting with the flavors of jazz, R&B, rock, and funk, all grounded in a folk sensibility. The smooth vocals and crisp guitar playing are supported by a stellar cast of musicians including Vance Gilbert on vocals, Billy Novick on clarinet and sax, Lorne Entress on drums, Paul Kochanski on bass, John Curtis on guitar and mandolin, Kristen Miller ..o, Tara Greenblatt on vocals and congas, Pablo Picker on vocals and keyboards, and producer Tom Eaton ..boards, vocals, and percussion. And then, of course, there is the songwriting – lyrics and melodies overflowing with passion, insight, and attitude.
"A must see artist..." Motif Magazine
"A honey-warm voice, clear and adventurous guitar work and incisive lyrics are all hallmarks of Patti's work, and they are still only the tip of her talent iceberg. See this musician soon wherever you can..." Vance Gilbert, performer.
"A powerful presence...fun, funky, and sizzling!". Tara Greenblatt, performer
"Patti DeRosa is a gem that stands out in the vast sea of singer-songwriters." Madalyn Sklar, Go Girls Music
