| General | Problem solving figures in everything I do. The challenge is to not fight through the same problem over and over, but to use solutions to address new issues and create a dynamic body out of what originally were obstacles. Creativity figures in almost as much. Language fascinates me. I'm omniverous.....anything can capture my imagination. Beekeeping, renaissance history, lost wax casting, make it so, make it produce. In my spare time I travel and take pictures all over the world.
| | Music | I like it quiet. Reggae is the soundtrack on alot of the beaches I have wintered on. Teckno and rap and much of the rest is just modern man's security blanket against their terror of introspection. There's always a lot of cigarette smoke to cover the smell of their dread and insecurity.
| | Movies | As with everything, I look for and appreciate craft. I'd been in Thailand for about three and a half years when I went in to one of the big old theatres to spend a couple of hours in the air conditioning. The movie was Dances with the Wolves and the landscape made me homesick and so I moved back to the U.S. and lived on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation for the summer. Movies are make believe but I find them to be relaxing and entertaining when they are well thought out and well crafted.
| | Television | I've never owned a tv nor does any of it interest me. Its eatting your life. Get some tools.
| | Books | Primitivism in 20th Century Art- English Creek- The Beast that God Forgot to Invent- The Waning of the Middle Ages...
| | Heroes | I meet heroes all the time. I admire anyone who has faced adversity and weathered it on their own steam. My hero is anyone who has the juice to set a goal and go for it despite obstacles, recrimination or setbacks of any kind.

About me:
I still hate the internet. I hate the necessity of having to be in the mix of all things public. I have a hard time with putting my life out there for free and anyone being able to run their fingers through it. Even more odious is when everyone asserts that I can’t survive without it. No way can you be a professional without a website to prove who and what you maintain you are? Nerds please, half the websites I go to won’t even open, even when I can find them. In the end all I can do is balance everything and pick the best path through. Myspace is free and easy to use and for now it will have to work.
For the people who make the effort to find me here, I hope this tip of the iceberg of my life is enough to get you to come back. Most of the time my life is easily outrunning my internet presence. When I do stop and look back, I’d rather that process take place in a hammock and I record my thoughts in a journal. My needs that are being met on the internet are simple, to meet new and interesting people, to stay in touch with the people already part of my life, and to share some small amount of work and opinion that accurately reflects how I’m spending my time. My days are experiential days and the foundation to live the rest of my life. I’m only interested in honing that process, of building and moving forward and building even better. All of it is inextricably linked with craft and creativity and whatever community is left to be found. If you are bumbling along from one mixed up fantasy to the next even more mixed up fantasy then click on. I actually like the oddball stuff; so what if you think you are a vampire, or a klingon, or a sixteen year old chick? Any of that just reaffirms my opinion of the internet and the symbiosis between it and the everyday world. And no, I’m not going to buy a ring tone or pay to see your natural parts. My reality is elsewhere, it’s in the shop, or on the road, or out there somewhere on the horizon. Eventually I’ll leave some of that on here to give some idea of what path I took, of what I did and saw and thought of it all.

Who I'd like to meet:
Experiential people who are actually doing something with their lives.....I'm not talking about the social justice keystone kops or that you eat all tofu and drive a hybrid car....I'm interested in people who are capable of producing work that moves their life forward with force and direction. Work that gives you a tangible sense of self and worth. I'm tired of people who mouth all the pretty things in a sad attempt to belong.....If you are an experiential and creative person you know what I'm talking about. Every day of your life is a credential rather than another rerun in the rut of rote consumer life.
