About me:
VOLUNTEER!!

"I believe with every fiber of my being that we can build an America that truly cares for all of her citizens. We need to maximize the potential of our youth, recognizing that investing in our children and grandchildren is an issue of national security. We can, and we must, do better."

Patty Wetterling has been fighting for safer American families since the abduction of her son Jacob sixteen years ago. Since then, Patty has become one of the nation's most respected and effective child advocates.

As a private citizen, she worked across party lines, passing more legislation than many members of Congress. Patty was instrumental in the passage of the Jacob Wetterling Crimes Against Children Sex Offender Registration Act on both the state and federal level. Additionally, Patty helped initiate and pass Community Notification (Megan’s Law) and the launch of the Amber Alert system in Minnesota.

Patty has used her expertise in the issues of child exploitation and abduction to educate and raise awareness among law enforcement officials, parents, and community leaders. Patty has given presentations to FBI Agents at the FBI Academy in Quantico and police officers around the country on preventing and responding to child abduction and abuse cases.

In her career as a child advocate, Patty has received numerous awards from local, state, and nonprofit organizations including: the Minneapolis Star Tribune’s "100 Most Influential Minnesotans of the Century" award; the President’s Award from the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association; the Governor’s Award in Minnesota for Unique Individuals for providing Community Leadership; and the "First Alert Award" by Larry King of CNN.

Patty is a secondary school math teacher by training. She and her husband Jerry live in St. Joseph, Minnesota, where they built his local chiropractic practice. They have four children: Amy, Jacob, Trevor and Carmen. Their first grandchild, Lili, was born in September 2004.

Note: this MySpace is run independently and is not endorsed by any candidate or candidate's committee.

Thanks for the add! I've been following this election rather closely, as is half the country it seems. I am very surprised Bachmann has any support at all... I think she's just "praying" to have votes now though... you got this thing won. Wish you luck and hope to meet you at a rally event!

polls show that ur ahead right? i loved the add showing how bachmann is against laws that would lockup repeat sex offenders for life. if all the repubs can do is discredit us, then we'll show them we can do it just as well.

Kind of funny, but my morning blog was a little trashing of Ms. Bachmann. I have become thoroughly disgusted by her. I have never been a democrat, but I certainly have had issues calling myself a Republican in recent years. This guy's a little tired of today's politics. A toast to you hopefully winning the 6th district and injecting some good fresh blood into Washington. We have enough crazed lunatics in Washington... we certainly cannot add Ms. Bachmann to that mixed nut can.

Thanks for the request and supporting this cause. You will be a great help to it. I grew up in Minnesota and recall Jacob's case quite well. A true tragedy. I pray that you get your answers soon and Jacob gets justice.

We live in a country today where you are five times more likely to be a victim of a violent crime at a playground than you are in a prison.

Yet in this same "great" country we have a judge who refuses to send a convicted child molestor to prison because she feared for his safety because of his height.

Please tell all of your friends about this page. The more people who see the cases on this site and in the bulletins I post, the more success stories there will be like those in the links below.

Let's all work together to make our country safer for Our Children. Please post a bulletin with one of my banners in it and tell your friends about this page. Remember, it is for a good cause, Our Children. Our Children are our future, without them, there is no future...

Thank-you for your time. Have a wonderful day.

The Midterm elections on November 7th, are less than two months away and the DNC is calling all American Democrats to the polls. Now is the chance to take back Congress and all across the country, Democrats are gathering, sharing ideas, and supporting their local Democrat running for office. From Alaska to Florida, from Hawaii to Maine, Democrats are sending a message to Rush Limbaugh that his pain killer addiction problem, that his excuses are running out. A message to Katherine Harris in Florida that we have not forgotten from the 2000 election. A message to Tom Delay that your corruption has been brought to an end. To Sean Hannity and the rightwing network he works for that their smearing and hatred for the DNC will not work this November. To Former Representative Duke Cunningham and Representative Bob Ney that there is a culture of corruption. To Dick Cheney and Halliburton, that we are taking notes of everything you do and have done. To Karl Rove that he needs to find a new job. To Rummy and the question of where are those WMDs? A question to Condi Rice regarding how that Broadway show was while Hurricane Katrina was hitting New Orleans? And finally a question to President Bush. Can the DNC have that banner of 'Mission Accomplished'? We still do not know what we can do with that banner. Either we can take it to Iraq and have our brave troops sign the banner and then hang it in New York City's Time Square. Why? Just to show how much this small banner is the symbol of the biggest mistake an administration has done in American history. And how the Democrats again came back and cleaned up all the mess the previous administration left behind. Controlling the record breaking deficits, bringing an honest government and an honest congress back to the American people and to make sure not another Tom Delay or Duke Cunningham or Bob Ney never come back to Washington. To protect American rights given to us by the constitution and protecting this country from terrorists who want to harm our communities and our children.. That is the promise the DNC has and will keep.
