This is a song from the CD, Born A Happy Heathen - an alternate and probably more accurate version of the last supper from the 2,000 year old Jesus - the "son of god" and "savior of mankind" myth.
Not sure what it "sounds like". These were the musical influences I can think of: Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Van Morrison, George Harrison, John Lennon, R.E.M., Collective Soul, Paul Simon, Phil Collins, Steve Earle, Tom Petty
As a struggling singer-songwriter, and also a re-programmed, un-born again, and recovering new-agey follower of multiple spiritual paths searching for the Meaning of Life, I think I have arrived. Thanks to George Carlin, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Bill Maher, Monty Python, and many other brilliant and talented people, I decided to focus my creative efforts on freethought. I will continue to post new songs here as they get recorded and will be free to download. Your comments, suggestions, and feedback are greatly appreciated.
Born A Happy Heathen CD
My first CD, Born A Happy Heathen, is a collection of atheos, irreverent, and satirical songs critical of religious dogma, superstition, and intolerance. They are designed to provoke and inspire skeptical thinking, while encouraging an awareness of the natural world. The lyrics and stories told are based on my personal "spiritual" journey; from one religion to another; one teacher/guru to another; one prophecy to another; one conscious raising technique to another.
Bottom line is that we all have to decide for ourselves - time to WAKE UP, QUESTION EVERYTHING, and THINK FOR OURSELVES.
"If atheists had a soul, Paul has captured it in his music."
