My name is RAYMOND PAUL THOMAS. I was born February 24, 1972 and I died August 18,1993. My body was found on August 19,1993. On August 18, 1993, Raymond Paul Thomas's truck broke down / ran out of gas / on the corner of Hwy 44 Junction.

He walked to his uncle's home for assistance, but his uncle was not home.

He proceeded to walk down Hwy 42 to Gonzales, La.

What happened next is a mystery. The part of the road that Paul was walking, was under construction and closed to the public drivers. Paul's body was discovered about three miles from a bar, across the street from Shiloh Baptist Church on Hwy 42.

The Pastor of this Church was backing out of his driveway the next morning and found Paul laying in the ditch at the end of his drive. Paul was already an Angel and with God then.

It is believed he may have been struck by a vehicle due to the injuries sustained to his leg and body. Other injuries were also apparent, but "not" believed to be related to the vehicular accident.

Paul also sustained extreme trauma to the head, indicating he may have been hit repeatedly with an unknown object. What was this vehicle doing driving in this "road construction area" closed to the public?

Another witness heard Paul's cry for help. She said there were 3 cries for help, each one weaker than the other. This witness and the Pastor both heard things that warranted calling the authorities, since they stated they were afraid to go themselves and take a look to see what had happened.

It is not known if they could have saved Paul's life, but it is possible they could have prevented the Criminal from getting away and evidence being lost. If only........

The bar mentioned here is only a mile marker reference. Paul's Toxicology Report Clearly stated there was NO Alcohol or Drugs in Paul's system. He was Sober and Straight.

Paul was only 21 years old at the time of his death.

It has been 14 years since Paul's death, with no answers for his mother and family. Thank you so much for your support.
