   Paul Tomkins's Blurbs
About me:
I am a writer, having published five books on Liverpool FC. Apparently people either love or hate me (actually, that is just my family). Thought in the spring of 2007 that it was finally time I joined the MySpace revolution, although seemingly 100 years after everyone else.

I was diagnosed with M.E. in 1999.

My latest book, "Above Us Only Sky: Liverpool FC's Global Revolution", was released on October 8th 2007. Details about the book, and of how to order, can be found at my website:

A very thrilling ride indeed.

I have very high hopes for Babel. He can definitely strike but he's only been adding to the goals tally. I believe that he'll play a more starring role and grab us a match-winner VERY soon.

Still enjoying your articles. :o)

Ps: Have you heard the joke about Rafa rotating his players so the burglars won't know who's home?

I don't know about you, but all this talk in the media about Liverpool not playing well at the moment....well long may it continue! I'll take these 4-0 wins every week. Good thoughtful article yet again on the OS mate.

Before Newcastle "a tough test for Liverpool", after "Newcastle are a rubbish side", which has been the tone for just about every game over the last month. Porto was an excellent example. The Kop's favourite pundit Mr Gray extolling the virtues of how tough Porto are to beat, and how the "sneaking suspicion" was for a Porto win. Torres steps up (who continues to morph into some kind of superman version of Dalglish in his prime) and Porto instantly turn into one of the worst teams in Europe!

Of course, we shouldn't get too carried away with this run of bad form. I am sure you will agree that it won't be too long before we start playing well, especially with one or two key players to come back from long term injury. As long as the results keep coming, and Rafa gets the support he needs from the owners, I'll be happy!!

Despite his prolificacy – some call him the Barbara Cartland of LFC writing – Tomkins doesn't claim to have all the answers.

I wanted to congratulate you on a great open letter to Hicks & Gillett! As usual, great writing and you hit the nail right on the head. I really hope they read it because it summarises everything they need to know without the Xenophobic crap that gets spouted on forums that just make the matter worse. I'm getting through your latest book, Above us only sky, which I love as well. Keep up the good work! If you haven't already you might sign the petition online (www.petitiononline.com) to keep Rafa. In RAFA we trust! YNWA!

Ha ha ha, that was an enjoyable double.
They are very friendly in New York. It helps when they're the bar staff in your cousins bar.

My copy of 'Above Us Only Sky' arrived today, that should keep me out of trouble for a while. I used the link on your web page to Amazon, hope that helps.
Cheers

I'll be a happy man if we come away from today's game without the now traditional broken bones in this fixture.
Three points wouldn't go amiss either.

Good to see Paul Anderson thriving. If he keeps it up all season he wont be loaned out next year. What an emerging talent.

Another top article on the official site mate. I guess I should not have been surprised to hear the old zonal marking lines trotted out by Mr Gray last night. The weakness apparently because one of their attackers ballooned a shot from a corner. I can't actually remember us conceding from a corner/set play yet this season have we? Peno's and own goals aplenty, but not from set plays.

Anyway, lets get behind the lads for the Arsenal game. A good result against a team that is flying will do wonders for our confidence.

And if Torres is still not fit enough, then maybe Hyypia could do a turn up the right end?!! ;-)

Keep up the good work Paul. I'm off to get a copy of your new book now.
Ivan
