I grew up in New Jersey, listened to a lot of classic rock, spent many years running away from my past, and now have to finally admit that I aspire to write a song as good as "Third Time Lucky."
Others have said:
"As a songwriter, she is unsurpassed. Like Richard Thompson or Elvis Costello, Carino’s songs are sardonic but intensely emotional, rich with symbolism, double endendres and laugh-out-loud clever puns." - Lucid Culture
"Paula Carino theorizes relativity between bopped-up punk and haunting rock... bouncing into the ether with confidence and smart humor." -The Village Voice
"Paula Carino has one of those strong, confident voices that we'll be hearing for years to come. Aquacade is an impressive debut." -Amplifier
"I like smart, cutting people who know their way around the English language. And when they can put it all to music, so much the better."-IndieCrit
"Think of a messier, more combative version of Aimee Mann, and you're halfway there -- the other half is entirely Carino's own." -Tris McCall
Just stopping in to say hello/leave a comment...
Hope you are doing well today!
