Paula McALeese delivers consistently impressive performances making her one of the few strong female vocalists in the country', Anna Drop-D Ireland
Hi I'm Paula and I am from County Down Northern Ireland, started writing songs at a silly young age with the help of an electric organ (not a brain or a heart!!) and a four stringed guitar. Started performing around Belfast in 2003 were I played my first gig in the Saturday Night Live Line up at the Pavillion Bar.. I recorded an E.P with the help of a friend and a computerI recorded 'Sorry to disturb you' just me and a a second hand acoustic guitar. For the next few months I gigged around Belfast and one night was supporting a band called Amoruza in the Front Page. They were really impressed with what I was doing and asked if I would come and be lead vocalist and songwriter for them (www.myspace.com/amoruza) With Amoruza, I continued to write and perform across Northern Ireland, with gigs in the Empire, Crescent Arts, Front Page, Aunite Annies, Spring and Airbrake, Pavillion, Rotterdam, Kings Head and basically everywhere that puts on gigs in Belfast, Bangor Lisburn, Portrush, Downpatrick, Newry..anywhere!. We released out first E.P. Discover in late 2004 with a live set in Virgin Megastore. While continuing to gig we managed to get a full half hour spot on NVTV getting to know you were I promoted the next EP to be released' Future Girl' and performed 3 live tracks. Future Girl was released to a packed out Laverys in May 2006.
After the summer, I went back to playing solo with a Radio Ulster appearance on the Ralph McLean show were I played two live tracks. Along with the lead guitarist of Amoruza, Steven McKnight. I continued to write and gig as a two piece acoustic act under my own name. Recording a home made E.P 'Pale Moon Tales' at the start of 2007 and a conversation with a friend at one of my gigs in Laverys in May of last year I sent the demo to Urban Angel, a blank disc and a phonecall later led me to working on my first commercially released single under the label, 'REACH OUT' will be available very very shortlly..........reach out and check it out!!!

Many thanks for the add. Hope you enjoy the music and message behind it. My mission in life is to fight Human Trafficking. understanding the individual pain of others is sometimes to painful for an other individual to touch and that is frightening ... what i mean is that someone whose life is not traumatized and brutalized as a regular sequence of every day events unconsciously seeks the camouflage and shelter of apathy and banality from the reality of such devastating anguish and terror ...
but the spirit of young people who are used as sex slaves in the systematized global industry of human trafficking is now reaching out to the human fellowship in hope and desperation and through technology ...
it is scary when humanity turns a blind eye to this horror ... its like ignoring genocide whilst it is happening ...
what i am asking is that if you hear the cry of these young people who are existing in an environment of torture and brutality each and every day that you then please do not turn away from them ...
please reach deeply into your heart and soul and please in 2009 join a movement or become a part of an event that challenges modern slavery in the 21st century ... colin
