Paul Rishell and Annie Raines’s fifth CD together, “A NIGHT IN WOODSTOCK” will be released in October 21, 2008 with a DVD of the same concert now available. The pair’s first live release features special guests John Sebastian, Bruce Katz, and Paul and Annie’s own backing band joining the duo for an eclectic, high-energy set of acoustic and electric originals and classic blues songs.
Paul Rishell & Annie Raines will be touring to promote “A Night in Woodstock” in 2008 and 2009. Like their previous recordings, this CD is sure to make a strong showing on the blues, roots, and Americana radio charts. The CD and DVD will be available from record stores, online music merchants, this website (see Nimbit OMT below) and at their live shows.
“…Rishell is a master of country/blues styles, particularly slide played on a National steel guitar. Raines, a rare female ace blues harmonica blower, shows that she is as strong an acoustic country harp accompanist as she is a harder-edged, electrified Chicago-style lead player à la the great Little Walter…” -Billboard

Hi Paul and Annie, Please ask everyone you know to come down to Johnny D's in Sommerville this Sunday Nov. 1st to support Lil' Stevie and The Westsiders in the Boston Blues Society Blues Challenge competition where we will competing against other great blues bands for a chance to move on to the competition in Memphis this coming January. Thanks much. Best,
"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
