My Names Paul Benedette and im from a sunny place called Great Horton in Bradford lol,
I first got into djing about 2 and a half years ago, with the likes of Sean Coy living a few doors away from me a quickly became fascinated and drawn into the djing scene and knew I wanted to be apart of it, so I watched and learnt the basics then put in night after night of hard practising for a couple of month and discovered I had a natural talent on the decks.
I pursued it and got my first break at The Red Square in Bradford playing Thursday nights and warm up sets on a friday or saturday, I then heard about a Dj competition that was being held at Lingards nightclub who were looking for up and coming Djs to be part of a new bassline Pre-Bar night starting in Subterranea on friday and saturday nights and also play sometimes in Ascension. I participated and made it through into the 8 that were picked for the club, I have made some fantastic mates on the way and met some cool people like Mr B, Joe Q, Racky, Tiggz, Kubby, Gav W and loads of regulars from the Lingards forum.
I learnt alot from watching Joe and Racky, How they know how to work the crowd and get the club rocking everytime, after a year at Lingards my time there ended as Subterranea didnt pick up like we hoped. Thats where my chance to play at anywhere I wanted began, so I pushed myself into getting on places and I met one of the best promoters around with nights like Bassfactory under his belt and many, many more successful Speed Garage nights around the country I knew if i was gunna get my name out there then i had to work for him, so he gave me my chance to play at a night called Bassheadz at the Boulevard nightclub in Batley and I am also now a resident dj at Funkys nightclub Bradford run by Joe Q which is becoming a very successful night the new place to be on a Friday and Saturday.
I have now started producing my own music this year and am hoping to as good as Joe and the many other talented producers out there in the speed garage/bassline scene, still got a long way to go yet , please please leave any comments you have on any of my tracks, all thoughts are appreciated........ thanks
