Paul started singing 'just for fun' when he became a Christian at 17. Joining the church gospel choir to make up the numbers he soon found out it was going to change his life for good. His love for gospel music grew and grew and to this day he has never really left his beloved Love & Joy Gospel Choir.
Since turning professional he now also applies his natural feel for lyric and melody to mainstream/easy listening, jazz and blues. Those who can really communicate a song on a personal level are very few. It's a special thing and Paul has it, that ability to convey a song and its message. On-stage he has charm, candour and a refreshingly real way of interacting with the audience.
Paul now releases his debut album ..Come Sunday.. and introduces himself as one of the great male vocal finds of 2007. Depth, clarity and integrity, all these are evident in the first few lines of an album that has sublime quality in all of its 17 tracks. With a style and quality that are his and his alone, truly stunning performances are also given by Les Chisnall (piano) and Iain Dixon (reeds/arrangerproducer).
This album is a must have for the listener and programmer alike. Available as a download from itunes, napster, rhapsody, connect and musicnet. Purchase the CD at:
I caught you and your band's performance in St Anne's square on Saturday as part of the Manchester Jazz Festival, and I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it! Nice work.

"Every track from the rhythmic ‘NY Cab Ride’ and restless ‘4 Wheel Drive’ to the brooding ‘Mae’s Song’ has a terrific hook but it’s the way Mason switches tempo and moods that makes ALH great fun." -- Diva Magazine
