Hello friends, thank you for stopping by and especially for listening. I have been a musician at the foothills of the Appalachians in the Tri-state region of West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky for over four decades now. My main focus is on songwriting and I frequently perform in several capacities. I got the bug at about thirteen when my parents brought home a couple records from a Peter, Paul & Mary concert. Discovered Dylan. I grew up mostly playing in cover bands doing Zepplin, Beatles, Stones and such. Started writing about 17 and played in many regional acts including Midnight Express, Maple Bend and Territories whose CD "Unreconciled" is still considered a local classic. I am fortunate enough to have a great bunch of musician friends whom I perform with often including Jay Oakes, Traci Ann Stanley, Sasha Collete, Joe Lambiotte, Bob Shortridge, Jeff Ellis, and as a Beatnik Cowboy with Kentucky's own Rob McNurlin. I was also honored to play on recent releases from Rob McNurlin, Jeff Ellis, Jay Oakes and Sasha Collete.
The Wayward Truth are an evolving and rotating cast of musician friends who on call, back me up in live performance and on recordings. This can include Jay Oakes guitars and vocals, Bob Shortridge on bass or guitar. Scott Stephens on Bass, Rudy Rohr on Mandolin, Tom Berry on percussion, and possibly other musicians as well. My musical sojourn has taken me many places and brought many lasting friendships. My relationship with melody, harmony, rhythm and emotion has enriched my life beyond my wildest dreams. There is no doubt in my mind that playing music makes people better people.
I have just released my first recording of all original music "The Wayward Truth". It contains 13 songs about what we all write about, Life. The CD features tracks with Bud Carroll, Mike Allen, Rudy Rohr, Noel Sayre, Bill Jones, Mike Ellis, Jay Oakes, Ed Price and Bob Shortridge, all great Tri-state musicians.
If you're looking for a description here of the music: folk, country, hillbilly, blues, rock and gospel are all elements, songs of family, love, loss, story songs, observations. Most would file under Americana or Folk but call it what you will..
Please come out and see us sometime. Thanks for listening and I hope you find something you enjoy.
Paul

With out our Father we are nothing, he can make us or break us it is up to you, take our Father with you every where you go. If you turn your back on him he will turn his back on you, untill you ask for fore giveness and his help. Threw him you can be and do anything you want to do. If he takes you to it, then he will bring you threw it, All you have to do is believe he will either bring you to your earthly home or his home in heaven, either way it is a win, win time in your life. You can do nothing on your own without God or Satin you choose. May Gof Bless And Always' Be With you. MARK
