Paul Collins' legendary early band The Nerves continue to be worshipped by new generations of hipsters and music lovers worldwide. Rock icon and cult favorite Paul Collins founded The Nerves with Peter Case and Jack Lee in 1974. The Nerves funded their own recordings, toured with The Ramones and released Hanging On The Telephone, a hit song which has been covered by Cat Power, Def Leppard and Blondie, on the Parallel Lines album. After The Nerves disbanded in 1977, Paul Collins formed The Beat, recruiting members of various rock bands.
The Beat were music video pioneers, with several 80s music videos appearing on early MTV and touring the world, performing with major rock acts such as The Cure, The Police, The Jam, Devo, Huey Lewis and countless others. Today, Paul Collins Beat continues to play hundreds of concerts each year, touring USA, Japan, Canada, Brazil, Italy, Spain, Sweden, France, UK and throughout Europe.
