.....BIOGRAPHY--
Paul Cresey is a Canadian artist who has been described as an "Old soul in a young person" This is how he is able to write with amazing maturity about subjects he has not experienced such as, the assassinations of the sixties or the past problems of civil wars in Ireland. Emotional songs are to be felt and not heard, that is why Paul places strong feelings in each and every song, spread out for everyone to experience. Independent reviewer, Peter McGee of Bluesbunny has said of the song "Sinners and Saints" : "It is here that the album seeps Cresey's true talent. Above diligent picking Cresey explores the soul of a lover." Paul keeps adding to his repertoire of songs and has released his second album in March 2009. It is more of a folk-rock offering with greater instumentation but still highly acoustical album.
As Paul's profile grows so does the profile of his engagements. As well as receiving a Canadian Folk Music Awards nomination for Young Performer of the Year for 2008 he has been invited to play the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, one of North Americas largest. People across Europe, the U.S. and as far away as Australia now own his first album. One interesting aspect of his success is that people of all ages have been buying his music so it is hard to pin down a specific audience.
Paul has had several television appearances and radio performances to date and he has played alongside Alberta folk legend Bill Bourne and has opened for the Polyjesters at the Northern Lights Folk Club in Edmonton (the city's largest). His music has been played in both Europe and North America on several airwave and internet stations and has been reviewed from reviewers from as far away as Scotland!
Even with this success Paul still plays the occasional coffee house gig with no admission for people who can't make it to the concerts.

Howdy Paul, Great listening to your songs and thanks for your friendship. I've been playing around with some different styles and just posted a new, original song, "The Cowboy Way". It's an old school twanger about heartbreak and driven souls. Check it out and let me know how you liked it. Be well and stay inspired. Dexter
