Paulette's Sound Is Like No Other. Comparing Paulette To Anyone In The Music Industry Would Be An In-justice To Her Amazing Vocal Ability.
On November 5, 2006 Paulette performed at the Grand Ole Opry show at the historic
Ryman Auditorium. She received a standing ovation when she sang her song THANK
YOU VETS.
On Veterans Day, Nov. 11th, Paulette stopped by to visit with her new friends at
the Legion Post 8 in downtown Las Vegas. She was graciously asked by the Legion
to be on their float for the citie's wonderful Veterans Day parade. Due to her
schedule at the air base, Paulette was not able to have the honor of
participating, she did, however, stop by later in the day and persanally sang
Thank You Vets for them.
Paulette and the Commander of Nellis Air Force Base, General Goldfein, pose for
a picture just before Saturdays USO show. Aviation Nation's air show was truly
spectacular with The Thunderbirds being the hit of the day!!!!
General Ron Keys and Paulette at Nellis Air Force Base.
The National VFW brought in to Las Vegas some of our country's distinguished
"Purple Heart" Vietnam Veterans. Paulette was honored to sing to them at this
"Operation Welcome Home" and honored to have her picture taken with them.

Hi Miss Paulette,
Just wanted to let you know how much your video connected with me.
I lost my father two years ago. I'm 34 and mom came to get me and we
watched him take his last breaths. It was very hard. Now mom is in
her 70's and I wonder what I'm going to do when she's not around
anymore. She has a glass case (a china cabinet) like the one you
sing about and she's collected memories also and she's been giving many.
This video really hit home for me. Actually I'm sitting here
crying as I type this. That's why country is sooooooo great.
You all know how we feel about certain things. Sooooooo real
and sooooo true. Thanks so much.
Sincerely,
Troy Leong

This Letter Came To Paulette From A Wonderful Talented Person Named Shelly. Thanks Shelly.
I put some music recommendations in my latest blog. Highway 101 was one of the six that I managed to window down, when I thought about music that I would recommend to people who needed a "crash course" in the best of country music.
Sometimes I think that you (and Cactus and all the guys) saved me. I actually stopped listening to country music for a time (which I had listened to my entire life), because I was so frustrated with the stuff that was being passed off as "country". Then, when I came back in the mid-eighties, I was so totally amazed by what I had missed. I was instantaneously back in the fold. I remember travelling to see you at the North Dakota State Fair (I even have pictures of your performance).
I'm a "newbie" when it comes to writing music, but I think I've been practicing for this all my life. It's people like you who have inspired me. I hope you know how much of a difference you've made for some of us.
I understand that this sounds like the typical "fan letter", but I just wanted to let you know that you've inspired me. Unfortunately, words can't express the visceral emotions that your music has invoked in me.
In my heart, there will always be a special place for Paulette and for Highway 101.
Always a fan,
Shelly
Paulette was born and raised in Minnesota and knew
at a young age that she was meant to sing. After working the clubs
in the Midwest for years she traveled to Nashville . Soon after
arriving in Music City she landed a job as a staff writer for the
Oak Ridge Boys publishing company Silverline Goldline. In 1985 she
hooked up with manager Chuck Morris and formed the legendary band
Highway 101, winning ACM and CMA awards both in 1988 and 1989. Their
first hit single was song Paulette penned called The Bed You
Made For Me . The next five years would turn out to be hit
after hit. Their songs included Whiskey, If You Were A Woman
, Somewhere Tonight , Cry Cry Cry , Who's
Lonely Now , Honky Tonk Heart and All The Reasons
Why , to name a few.
Paulette moved on from the band after a great 5
year run with her Highway friends. Paulette married in the fall of
1989 and she and her husband Randy started their family in 1991 with
the birth of their daughter Cali .
Paulette continued to write and recorded an album
for capital records called I'll Start With You . In 1996
Paulette pulled off the road and settled in Montana to raise her
daughter with her husband.
In the fall of 2004 Paulette wrote a song inspired
by her brother Gary and the many other Vietnam vets she had known,
called Thank You Vets . As Paulette says, " Thank You
Vets just wrote itself in a matter of 10 minutes and I knew
after I had written it that I would be going back to work. Thank
You Vets is a song that needs to be heard and I felt a great
responsibility to this piece of music. I could not just put it on
the shelf with the other songs I had written."
Paulette produced to take the steps necessary to
move back to Nashville, acquiring a home and letting her peers know
she was back. During this time period she heard of some folks who
were doing what she thought was a simple concert for our Vietnam
Vets. She immediately called them and told them that she would like
to come and sing a song for our veterans. It turns out that this was
not just a simple concert; this was going to be the first national
homecoming for our Vietnam vets, Operation Homecoming USA .
Paulette decided to call up her friends in
Nashville and proceed with her album. It was an eleven day
whirlwind. Just one glitch could have put the whole project off
schedule, but everything went so smoothly. It was meant to be. Her
inspiration to come back to work was from a need to sing a song for
our Vietnam Vets, but her album is it what many believe to be her
finest country CD.
Paulette is a woman with a
purpose and her new album is one that is inspired by family, country
and our veterans.
