Influences
There are groups that inspire us but are not necessarily influences on us.
We are ultimately influenced by the thousands of bands and artsits that we have collectively digested over our life spans. Here are a few bands whose approach to music is much appreciated:
New Order, the Beatles, Prince, Le Tigre, Fisherspooner, Ladytron, Lovage, Mike Patton, Saul Williams, the RZA, Beck, Pulp, Romanthony, Son of Bazerk, Andre 3000, Teddy Riley, and Hip-Hop producers between 1988-1992 (Marley Marl, the Bomb Squad, the 45 King, Easy Moe Bee, Prince Paul, SD50’s, Sir Jinx, etc..).We are also influenced by small time bands that have a do-it-yourself record-in-the-bedroom and just throw shit together approach to music. I like music with simplicity and rough edges. We love local bands such as UV Protection and Cassette among many others
We love Stevie Wonder, but can’t consider him an influence. He is way too deep and complex to ever emulate. His music is purely medicinal.

A BRIEF TIMELINE (or not so brief): --------------------------
1984 - Influneced by Wierd Al Yankovich, The Fat Boys, and Run DMC, the young Paul Foley began experimenting with tape recorders. Beat boxing, rapping, and writing parody songs such as "Dump", a song about taking out garbage in the melody of "Jump" by Van Halen. He still has the tapes from this time period....although you will never hear them. -------------------------------------
1986 - After the breakthrough of the Beastie Boys, Paul realized that white people could rap and began to spend much more time and effort recording songs and skits onto a portable tape recorder. ------------------------------------
1987-1989 - Paul formed his first group called The Lost Boys, named after the movie of course. He teamed up with an unpopular metal head (headbanger) by the name of Justin DeSliva and recorded mostly improvisational songs about classmates and teachers at their grade school. Also recorded a series of x-rated christmas carols, a rendition of LL Cool J's "Radio", as well as a song called "We're Fresh" in which he and Jimmy Trocano (aka Kno) rap, beatbox, and cut up Michael Jackson's thriller record (Kno is currently in Warm Bodies to this day!). Paul still possesses a 90 minute tape filled to the brim with all of these recordings....again you will never hear this tape! --------------------------------------------
1989-1990 - By facing one tape recorder playing cassingle instrumentals into another tape recorder equipped with a blank tape (no direct inputs mind you), Paul recorded about 8 songs. Some of the instrumentals used include: The glamourous life by Cool C, Funky Cold Medina by Tone Loc, Play This Only At Night by Doug E Fresh, and Packet Reprise by Digital Underground. One of the songs was actually called the glamourous queef....oooo ooooo! you got it! Also renamed his crew the NMA Posse (no muthafuckas allowed).--------------------------------------------
1990-1992 - Paul and Kno went through high school and named and renamed themselves several times. Among the names included : The CIA, Higher Ground, and UFX (they also jokingly considered the name "The Idaho Potatoes"). They wrote lyrics but did not have any beats. Beatboxing just didn't cut it anymore. --------------------------
1992 - After experimenting with pause-button loops, Paul made a loop of a break in Poor Righteous Teachers' "Each One Teach One". He and Kno recorded a song at the house of a friend who had DJ equipment....They called him DJ Ill Man (aka Candy Kane bka Chris Candalora). Their group was called UFX (Underground Effects). -----------------------------------
1993- Formed the group falsehood. Paul, Kno, and Rich Lebranti were the only ill MC's at their high school. They recorded two songs ("cyphalistix" and "got it flowin' on") at the house of DJ Ill Man and really started to get serious about music. Around this time Paul started getting into buying 12" records for instrumentals (LOTUG's Funky Child was their shit, and Let the Funky Horns Blow by Chi-Ali) and using microphones, mixers, and tape decks for recording.
They still have these songs as well....you could hear them if you asked. They also tried to purchase a beat from Joe Mansfield who produced the early Ed O.G. albums, and they sent a demo tape to local hip-hoppers, Top Choice Clique (they thought the tape sucked...it kind of did). ---------------------------
1993-1995 - As falsehood, they worked with various producers and musicians including a 3-piece jazz band called 3rd power (the backing band for the Rat's open mic freestyle sessions in 93-94), G-man and Skitzofreniks, and Shiz Rock from Lynn. They also recorded tracks in Paul's dorm room using microphones, a mixer, a turntable, a tape deck, and tape loops that he had created in his electronic music class at BU. All 1-track recordings, including "complete ewrecktion", "freakend", and "verbal attack". They also freestyled (and smoked blunts) almost everyday and made shit loads of freestyle tapes.------------------------
1995 - Met Mister Jason (who later formed Porn Theatre Ushers with Nabo Rawk) at a party and recruited him for falsehood. They now had a Producer and a DJ, and no longer had to scrounge for beats--------------------------
1995-1996 - Recorded their first "real" album at a "real" studio in New Hampshire. The first falsehood album was self-titled. They had professionally manufactured cassettes (not cd's).--------------------------------------------
1996-1998 - Did a shit-load of shows, recorded more tracks (but never actually came up with a second album), did live music week on WERS 88.9, opened up for Coolio, Sweet Tee, and the Violent Femmes.----------------------------------------
1998- Paul got sick of the hip-hop scene, quit falsehood, and went on hiatus for a year. Experimented with a Roland MS-1 sampler (coutesy of Mister Jason) and started making his own beats, finally.------------------------------------------------------------
1999-2000- Paul started his "Off to the Left" project. Using beats from the MS-1 sampler he recorded off-the-wall hip-hop tracks using only stereo equipment (back to the 1993-style of music production).---------------------------------------------------------
2000-2001- After purchasing an Akai DPS12i digital 12-track, Paul produced, engineered and mixed his first solo album, "The Paradox of No Style". He began experimenting with other genres of music beside hip-hop and was finally set free!---------------------------------------------------------
2001 - Paul got a drum kit and started Whitesnack, his psuedoband with Kno on the keys and Rich on the Bass. Many Whitesnack recordings would later be edited and translated into songs on upcoming albums.-----------------------------------
2002 - Paul and Kno decided to take a week off from work in order to make an album. At the end of a week's time a complete album was done. Rich came by every night to collaborate on tracks, and "The Week Album" ended up sounding like a falsehood reunion. Naked 2nite spawned from this album. Paul and Kno began to collaborate on productions, which would blaze the trail in the direction of what Warm Bodies would soon become.---------------------------------------------------
2003- Created "The Pu Pu Hot Pot" another mess of an album straying even further from the influence of hip-hop.----------------------------------------------------
2004- Created "The Minty Grab Bag" which was heavily synthesized and electro. Kno contributed many of his own productions to this project.------------------------------------------------
2005 - After DJ'n heavily all through the year, Paul did not have the time to make much music. Kno also moved to LA for year, which further impeded music production. Paul decided to put together a greatest hits compilation, entitled "The Greatest Shits". Only the most tangible and digestible songs were chosen for this collection. ---------------------------------------------
2006- Warm Bodies took the stage and brought the music to the masses. We practice ONCE before a show!------------------------------New album entitled "Warm Bodies presents Ducky and the Karate Kid presenting Music for Non-musicians" will be available in select Newbury Comics stores on 6/18/07....FRESH!
2008 - Temporary haitus. Check out Wasted Talent (A Warm Bodies side project) oh yeah.
