There was a time when brass had balls, when a smoldering crooner could melt you like a popsicle in the Florida sunshine and when being COOL was hotter than HOT! The romance is back with Australia's very own "King of Cool" Paul Griffith.
The spotlight falls on a musical journey beginning with Paul's country music roots, flourishing into one of the finest, most distinguished and classy performers in Australia and abroad!
He was born in 1968 when Frank Sinatra was singing Little Green Apples, when Louis Armstrong told us it was ..."A Wonderful World". Since then, he has matured like a Kentucky Whiskey and has created a sound that is just as intoxicating!
Many in the business around the world have compared his awesome talent to greats such as Steve Lawrence, Vic Damone, Bobby Darin with his velvet lyrics flowing from deep emotion as would Mel Torme or perhaps Tony Bennett.
His class, his style, his swagger and cheek have become as synonymous as his ability to make his audience laugh, make them cry, leaving the chicks wishing they knew him long before now and the gents wanting to be him at any one moment!
Paul's natural presence and loveable ability to charm is parallel to his undeniable professionalism and devotion to unrivalled perfection or as close as it can be. His appearance is as one with his arrangements by some of the greatest musical minds ever to play their instruments or write from the treble clef!
In Australia, his music director and 16 additional band members make for the finest big band in the land! Their reputation for sheer musical artistry and incredible energy, have catipulted the performance into the world-class category!
As for Paul Griffith...he will take you back to a time to when an audience was entertained, not just sung to! When the standards and show-tunes flowed like Harvey Wallbangers on a Saturday night, when words and music were married by celebrants of a time forgotten.
From Billy Joel to Broadway, let your imagination run wild enough to join this marvelous talent as he begins to tell his story as his favourite composers intended those stories to be told!
Ladies and Gents....with Paul Griffith....the magic is back!!!!
