Me and whoever comes along with a fiddle, mandolin, bass, percussion, etc
Influences
The Allman Brothers, Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, Jerry Garcia, Tony Rice, David Grisman, Van Morrison, Jackie Gleason, Jackie Mason, Edgar Rice Burroughs (yes I read all 24 Tarzan books when I was a kid!), bluegrass of all sorts, Pat Metheny, any kind of fiddle music, other stuff I can't think of right now.
Both a singer/songwriter (with a bluegrass edge) and an improvisational musical storyteller for children and adults, Paul easily weaves in and out of performing for any audience.
Paul's shows for children are high-energy, interactive events with quality original songs. His bluegrass/folk shows for adults reflect the same energy with a high level of musicianship and a confident showmanship that engages and uplifts the audience. He also facilitates interactive musical improv workshops for both children and adults (who may wish to explore new avenues of creative expression and play).
Grateful for his training as an actor, writer (NY Times and other publications), musician, street performer, and theatrical/musical improviser, Paul has won awards for both his children's and adult songs (including Sweet Janine playing on this site). Most recently, his CD for children, Bears, Bees & Butterflies, won an international award from The Children's Music Web -- the only award guided by adults and judged by children. He describes this CD as "100% organic, hand-made music."
He is currently working on a release for adults/general audiences (Sweet Janine and Listen to the Mockingbird included) with backing musicians such as Stuart Duncan (Nashville Bluegrass Band), Garth Hudson (The Band), John Sebastian (Lovin Spoonful), Mollie O'Brien, and a host of other outstanding players.

If you have a band and would like to work in western central Massachusetts, I may be able to help book you. I started NC Booking back in '89 when I was booking a few bands from Scotland and Ireland. Now, 20 years later, I'm still booking great roots music acts. To find out more, visit http://northamptoncommunity.ning.com where you can REGISTER. Thanks!
