Considered the no.1 dj in Brasil in 2006 and 2007, by cool magazine’s anual awards, and resident at Warung Club, Paulo (Paulinho) Boghosian is one of Brazil’s most appreciated house djs. An electronic music addict since his adolescence, he began his professional career in 1999, when he won the Phillips Expression competition for upcoming DJs. After that, Paulinho..s career was a continuous evolution. His refined musical taste, combined with precise mixing skills and dance floor awareness gave him credentials to play in big parties of the main international labels such as Space Around the World, Pacha-Ibiza World Tour, Renaissance, Cream, and Ministry of Sound, being chosen to warm-up for most of the big names such as Erick Morillo, Fatboy Slim, Roger Sanchez, Danny Howells, Danny Tenaglia, Nic Fanciulli, Darren Emerson, Oscar G, Hernan Cattaneo, and Layo&Bushwacka, in their appearances in Brazil. He also became a favorite amongst the VIP crowd and, with that, he played at the most exclusive parties in his country such as Audi 10th year anniversary in Brazil, Red Bull Formula 1 team party, Gianni Versace and Roberto Cavalli fashion shows, Cool Magazine 7th and 8th anniversary, and at the closing party of Brazil..s movie awards at Gramado. Paulinho is based in Sao Paulo-Brazil, where he frequently plays D-edge, Pacha, Manga Rosa, and at the In the House parties in Sao Paulo. But he travels frequently around the country for gigs in the top clubs such as Sirena in Maresias, where he played at the club..s 12th anniversary, Trend in Brasilia, Na Sala in Belo Horizonte, Vibe in Curitiba, and in Warung, where he has a monthly residence in the club that was recently considered the 3rd best club in the world by Mixmag magazine. As a Warung resident, Paulo is frequently chosen to warmup for the top international djs and has recieved strong support from big names such as Darren Emerson, Nic Fanciulli and Paul Woolford. The strength and quality of his work stood out when he was invited to play at Space Ibiza, and rocked the inside dancefloor. He also played at the most well known outdoor festival in the world, Creamfields, in its Sao Paulo edition, at Skol Beats 2006 and Skol Beats 2007, the biggest electronic music festival in Brazilian territory. where his set was considered one of the highlights. He was also guest at South America Music Conference in Buenos Aires. As a producer, Paulinho has remixed two tracks of one of Brazil..s most important artists, Rita Lee. He has also signed an underground house track to a Brazilian compilation series called Colcci Tronic, released by Underground Records Brasil. Boghosian plays quality house music, with influences from deep house, minimal, tech, and progressive house, since many of his sets are long sets and the artist tries not to get stuck in one specific kind of sound. He pays attention to musicality and quality of the songs he plays, but he is also attentive to what works on the dancefloor. The result is sexy and uplifting house music sets, which please both the underground and mainstream public.
