General	Hockey and football are my favorite sports, but I also love a good baseball or basketball game. You can't interrupt my wife and me during the winter when Syracuse basketball games are on. I own two guitars I haven't seriously tried to play in years, but I like to pretend I still could. We recently bought an original Nintendo Entertainment System, and we're always looking for great deals on those old games we love (I rule on Ice Hockey!)
Music	In 20 years, I will be one of those guys my kids make fun of for living in the decade in which they grew up. Nirvana is my favorite band, with Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Metallica ranking up there. I also like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Nelly, Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot CHili Peppers and other bands that don't stink. NO country, NO "light rock" poop like Sheryl Crow and ZERO TOLERANCE for 15-year-old girlie singers who will be unemployed by age 18.
Movies	The best movie ever made, by FAR, was The Shawshank Redemption (think it's OK that I don't do my profile in AP style?) Also up there are the original Longest Yard, Anchorman, Seven, Rounders, Almost Famous and Old School. The X-Men movies also are cool.
Television	Heck, I like The Simpsons so much that some people say I look like them. I also love Seinfeld reruns, Prison Break, House, Family Guy, Law & Order and most any sporting event. I'm also hooked on American Idol. I'll pass on Survivor, most sitcoms and most other shows, actually. Oh, and the best TV moment of the year is getting the 24 DVD set and watching all the episodes in a marathon. And why did they ever cancel Freaks & Geeks or Sliders?
Books	I don't read many books, but I liked Grapes of Wrath, Mick Foley's biography, To Kill a Mockingbird and that book about the MIT blackjack team.

Hi there. I am a husband, newspaper reporter, father of the spectacularly beautiful Penny Jeannine Lane, all-around wild and crazy guy ... if by wild and crazy you mean sit around in my underwear watching TV. Nicole and I have been married since 2004, and I have worked about 1,700 jobs in my six years at the local newspaper chain. I proudly wear orange as a Syracuse University alum, and am probably the only human to own a John Wallace plaque (including John Wallace's mom). At school I learned a proficiency for blackjack and poker, as well as how many bottle caps will fit on the ceiling of your dorm room and the virtues of a garbage table.
