   About Paul Kochanski
Born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan; attended the Berklee College of Musical Knowledge in Boston,MA; played in Boston bands the Lines, the Drive; founded alt.country group Swinging Steaks (Capricorn Records); relocated to Western Massachusetts where I stay busy playing free-lance upright and electric bass (live and recording). I am also an established monochromatic muralist with numerous installations in low-income homes across New England. Note: Songs posted here are ones I have had the pleasure of playing bass on - I didn't write 'em, sing 'em, nor take the time to figure out how to myspace 'em properly, sorry.

The corporatist’s sole consideration for profit is one terrible form of Government!

Hey Paul-I need your help spreading the word.  My music video is a finalist in a CMT competition.  Over 1000 entries and I'm in the top 64! The contest is based on votes.  Go to www.madness.cmt.com , click on "vote now", wait for the four artists to slowly appear and choose the 3rd guy (Jimmy Wayne), hit start and watch the rhapsody commercial, click on me (3rd one down), watch a bit of the videos, hit vote (Don Pedigo of course), then most importantly click submit your votes on the bottom left, thanks!

You know the people that say utopia isn't possible have already given up. Living sustainably in balance with our environment and food sources will bring us the freedom to live in harmony, and provide the opportunity for all to excel in their efforts, dreams and life path. Utopia is not only possible but it is the very essence that should guide our dreams and vision for ourselves and with each other. It is the horizon we should all strive for everyone and every nation. Anything short of that will lead us astray.

Nice job on TV.

You guys did look really good.

PS: I did a show the early '90s with Patty Loveless. She had a confident voice and star presence, but seemed slightly disconnected from the tunes she covered.

Lori reminds me a little of Patty but with some Nanci Griffith folkiness to balance things out. Must be the writing thing.

She is locked into everything she is doing, man.

In short... it looks like you guys are gonna be busy for quite some time.

Love is like a truck.

As long as you take care of it... you can get across most anything!

Hope to see you this weekend (as I am looking for a set of winter tires).
