About me: I am a writer and musician living in New York City. I am a "starving artist" who is not starving: I have a really good day-job providing IT support to media companies around North America. Nights and weekends I write, and I am very close to completing the final draft of my first novel. I am also a singer/songwriter/pianist/guitarist, but have put that mostly on hold to concentrate on my writing.
In the past I have been a law student, grass-roots political organizer, and passionate Native American rights activist. I am not currently as involved with these issues, as I am devoting most of my time and energy to creative pursuits. I still feel strongly about peace and justice causes, and do what I can, when I can. I would describe my political beliefs as quite progressive.
I was brought up by great, liberal people, who believed in following one's dreams and having a solid work ethic. I love NYC because people work hard at fulfilling their dreams, and the quality and talent are incredible. Most of my social life consists of going to musician friends' gigs, occasionally appearing as a guest musician on other people's albums, and doing other arts-related things, such as going to museums and galleries and off-off-Broadway plays. I also love to go hiking and camping, and going for drives through my native New England countryside.
Friends describe me as smart, funny, kind, open-minded, and someone they can rely on. I am family oriented, and being Uncle Paul is, hands down, THE best job in the universe.
Who I'd like to meet: People who think about who they are and their place in the world.
Lol. That last comment was confusing too! Hahaha. That's good to hear about you and Kevin. Yeah, I'm not doing Five Points anymore. I'm retired! Now I can get back to my life....LOL!
Hahaha. I don't even know if there's such a thing as...Filipino chicken soup? Awww, but thanks for the sentiment. I'll be okay. I'm an old pro at coughing up and blowing out phlegm. Soon this will pass and it will all be like a bad dream....
