   About PAUL MILLNS
''His music defies categories, spanning earthy blues, love ballads, soul, rock and jazz. He has one of the most expressive voices you will ever hear, and he uses it to bring out all the emotions he packs into some superb lyrics’ MUSIC WEEK

The new Paul Millns Album “UNDERCOVER” gets its UK Release on the 13th September 2007 on the Wayra Record Partnership Label. UK Dates will follow a showcase with BBC Radio in the near future.

Paul is touring in Europe, where his album “UNDERCOVER” featuring all new compositions is currently released

Pianist for blues stars like Alexis Korner and Eric Burdon, Paul has been recognized in Europe as an outstanding singer, songwriter with his twelfth solo album recently released in UK by Sanctuary Records. His songs have been widely recorded by such singers as Bonnie Tyler and Elkie Brooks. His new album UNDERCOVER has just been released in Europe.

''If there was any justice in the musical world, he would be filling the biggest halls in the land'' THE SCOTSMAN

BIOGRAPHY

Raised in Norfolk, Paul started his musical career in the late 60's and early 70's playing piano and keyboards with blues and soul bands, music which was to be a great influence throughout his career. He subsequently toured the world in the bands of Alexis Korner, Eric Burdon, various visiting American blues singers such as Louisiana Red, Bert Jansch, Jo Ann Kelly, Peter Thorup and Dr Hook's Denis Le Corrier. Later as a solo artist he opened concerts for John Mayall, David Crosby, Ralph McTell, and John Martyn

Appearances on European TV shows, especially a solo show on the biggest TV rock program of the 80's - ..Rock Palast' in Germany, have maintained his reputation

He has performed in the US and Canada and now tours regularly throughout Europe both solo and with the backing of top British musicians, including critically acclaimed appearances in the main continental festivals and in Britain at the Edinburgh Arts and Cambridge Festivals. The soul quality of his vocal style has been compared with early hero Ray Charles and Joe Cocker, and his piano style from Memphis Slim to Lenny Tristano.

SONGS

His songs often retain his soul and blues background, but unusually range in subject material across social, political and personal relationships. His songs have been translated into many languages and have even been the source of ballet choreography.

The main breakthrough for Paul as a composer was Elkie Brooks recording ''Too much between us’’ for her hit album ''Pearls 2’. Many other artists have performed and recorded his songs, most recently Bonny Tyler singing “Forget her”on her “Free Spirit” album. Paul has composed music and songs for more European film productions and music for Thames TV, Channel Four and BBC Two programs including TV Society and BAFTA award winners. In 2003, he composed the orchestral music for the BBC film. JLB, directed by Jan Leman which was repeatedly shown on BBC 4 and BBC 2

Paul has recently enjoyed writing with long time friend Benny Gallagher of Gallagher and Lyle fame, with Chris Neil, the producer and writer of Mike and the Mechanics and top-selling artist Celine Dion, and with top writers in Nashville.

A trip to Russia took place in April 2000 working with a top Russian symphony orchestra on an ambitious new ballet project involving Paul’s music with dance and art. First concert performances of this work Papillons took place with full orchestra and choir in Switzerland and France October 2005

Hi Paul, thank you very much. It's been a long time since I saw you on stage. This was taken in Berlin at the Quasimodo in 1983, when you shared the evening with Bob Lenox.
Good to see you still on the road.
Come to Hamburg!

GREAT show here in Bielefeld yesterday! Apart from the beautiful songs, the musicianship of your threepiece is quite unbelievable (although a harp player wouldn't have been amiss).

Thanks for accepting my 'friend' request, Paul.

Your "History of a kiss" took me back to the moving sequence of "cut kisses" at the end of Cinema Paradiso: your song pulled me in emotionally and I didn't want to leave.

Along with songs, I have posted a true story of mine at myspace:

"Washing Dishes for Dylan in 1987"

Not such a bad place for a budding songwriter to have started.

Best wishes from Edinburgh,

Martin

Hallo Paul, thank you for your friendship! Your music is great! If you..re interested in a whatever collaboration please contact me!

Music has always been a place where anything is possible - a refuge, a magical world where anyone can go, all kinds of people can come together, and anything can happen.
We are limited only by our imagination. I believe that what we do and learn inside the world of music can affect what goes on in the world in a big, positive way. music is so important - like food and water. There are so many possibilities, and many doors yet to be opened.

sleep well tonight.
