Paul Sumner writes pop song's, mostly in a room with a bath.
He live's in a small town by the sea, in the North West of England. Soggy chip butties & kiss me quick hats...That sort of thing.
He has a cat called Graham.
Hopefully, a new collection of songs will be released shortly.
Please take care, and be creative & kind to each other.

Alternatively, if you, like me prefer a real cd as opposed to a digital download. I still like to open up the pack and read the booklet, etc. Call me old fashioned. Then simply click on the button below and i will post a copy to you, with my own fair hands for £5.95 including postage & packing to anywhere in our dear old world.
Glad you like that tune Paul. I messed up the mix completely - but at least I have a better idea of where the track is going and how it could sound. I had great fun doing the handclaps and then arsing around in Cool Edit Pro clipping them etc. Made me feel like a proper engineer! THAT album cover! I'd been wanting to do that for years. Those records were great. You could lust quietly after the girls on the front and have dirt cheap copies of all your fave tunes - all at once. It was like a joint venture between Poundland and Ann Summers. Great stuff. Learned so much from those albums. I was sometimes disappointed to hear the originals. The 'album' is not available as such tho. I was thinking of putting the wav. files/iTunes files up on a separate website and let people download anything they wanted. I see it all as a bit of fun really. But chuffed you asked!
Hi Paul, thanks for introducing your lyrical and forceful songs. I don't know which song I like the best. That's a good sign and stands for the quality of the tunes. Wish you a good weekend, fame and fortune. LB
Hi Paul & Greetings from Berlin. Thanks for the nice request....my pleasure! Like our amazing friend, the very beautiful and talented Phyllis, I too really like your songs. Very good work and there is a very "fresh" and somehow new feeling to the tunes that is really cool. Yes, some wonderful chord changes. At the moment, my favorite is "Maybe It's You". Very beautiful...the melody, acoustic sound, the strings and your singing. I also love when the second acoustic guitar comes in! Cool touch and lovely playing. Good job Paul...hats off. Have a great weekend and I will raise a glass in your direction tonight! Cheers!
You had me at Peter Sellers. Impeccable taste, Paul (;
This is some of the best music I’ve heard here in space! Truly exceptional tracks, Paul! Your sound, style, vibe, influences are all SENSATIONAL. Perfect pop confections---inventive chord changes, clever melodies, poetic lyrics, impressive musicianship, excellent production and pleasing vocal. I usually choose a favorite track to comment on. In this case it was nearly impossible. ALL your songs were brilliant in their own way. I think my fav track would depend on my mood. Today I’ll give the nod to the ambient, “Astronaut” & “A World of Horses” (dreamy chord changes). I was also instantly hooked by the hypnotic, “Gone”. The Gallagher brothers would dig this one (; Do you work alone or call in favors? Whatever you’re doing--keep doing it!
Hi Paul, Thanks so much for sending me a note and that beautiful carousel. :-) Wishing you a wonderful weekend. Keep in touch. My book profile page should be up in the next week or so. I'll stop by and see if you will join me there too.
Ayup. Just stopping by so see what you've been up to. had a listen to the Maybe Its You tune. I do love a good cello. BBC Xmas Ghost Stories. The Signalman! Scared the crap out of me when I was 10. Denholm Elliot I think. Mind you, Children of the Stones over on ITV was even worse! Not been up to much here over last 12 months but recorded something new. Not got it quite right yet. Vocal is too high.
Hi Paul, Just popped in... 'ey... just watched Eric and Ern, all the way through, with Andy Preview :). What a hoot! Took me right back to when I was a nipper. Cheers Chris PS still laughing now :)
cheers paul, i'd never heard of Kevin Coyne uptil i got your comment, i thought i'd check him out an I gotta admit theres some similaritys, our basic guiar playing style is pretty similar ..i had top note missing, so i tweeked the remaining top 3 an play em as though im playing bass an they resememble a chord. an looks like he was doing it before me lol ,, I like some of his songs, but i hope i take other lessons from watching guys like him an harry nilson, as im a fellow chainer an heavy drinker, who looked an was in half decent shape but at 28 is starting to get a gut an put over a stone on an getting bad chest in the morning especially lol ect ... these guys aged real fast an real bad didnt they bot in looks an health, an you look at the likes of Bruce Springsteen at 60 ect .. i know which one id rather be lol ...
