Paul Nye is an average guy whose uniqueness lies in the fact that he doesn’t wear the preponderance of “uniqueness” on his shirtsleeve. In an industry where artists work hard at being unique and original in everything they do - from their fashion statements and hairstyles, to their music and stage persona - Paul Nye doesn’t feel the need to “out-unique” his peers. He is comfortable and self-confident with being extraordinarily average. This, alone, raises Paul’s art to a truly original level. Capable of working with the cliché as well as the sublime, Paul approaches songwriting in a personal, yet practical and revealing manner. Holding a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communication, and working many years as a professional writer/editor, Paul honed the craft of being able to clearly articulate a story line that connects with his audience in a personal, yet clever manner. In a music culture where vagueness is raised to an art form, this is truly rare. Paul comments, “Anybody can write vague. My cat can be vague. That doesn’t make my cat a great songwriter.”
Years of performing in almost every conceivable situation before nearly every type of audience, Paul has honed his stage presence into a warm, engaging and entertaining craft, bringing a down-to-earth originality that is natural, not forced. Equally comfortable in front of 3 and 4 year olds, as well as senior citizens and every age in between makes Paul Nye a consummate professional. As his son, Taylor, would say, “He’s like a cat. He can adapt literally to any situation.” Whatever the venue, whatever the audience, Paul easily rises to the occasion and confidently faces the challenge of giving his absolute best to every audience, big or small, simply because, as he puts it, “they deserve it.” This makes Paul Nye truly original.
Note: Paul writes and performs music for both children and adults.
Tony Bates, music director for 94.1 FM in Melbourne, Australia said, "Paul Nye's album, BEATEN PATH, is something to be replayed frequently. Despite the inherent humor, there are some very wise messages lying within the tracks. This well-produced independent album sets itself aside from other similar works, by taking an honest look at current life. "

Greetings from southern Florida. How are things at home? I won't tell you how they are here (80 degrees everyday) because you might get (only sunny days) jealous (warm southern breezes) or something. Love you, Paul! Kiki & Greg
