Thanks for the video, I didn't know about the super clamps. Damn you, now I have to either put aside money for those lights or keep holding. Damnit. Haha, no that's a good video.
Well, if you do tryout those shots I can't wait to see what you get.
I'm not sure if it's a good closeup lens, you have to be 1.5 feet away to focus, while your 18-55 is only .9ft (says on the top side of the lens next to a flower). When you say bigger brother I think your talking about the 50mm F/1.4. Oh my lordy, I've heard it's not only well built but I've seen the blur on it, just magical. But I can assure you, I've used the F/1.8 on tons of tough locations, I've dropped it well around 6.5ft+, Slapped it, accidentally hit it on a rock. It's plastic, it may feel cheap, but it is pretty ruggid.
